Welsh Yellow Celtic Wedding Theme | Louise's Wedding Style

It’s our last meet the team of 2013. Today it’s the turn of our web developer, Louise, who’s been keeping this site in shape for a whopping five years and 10 months. Ah, how time flies. Lou’s already tied the knot, but loved her day so much she wouldn’t change a thing. Good news for Mr Louise, eh?

About Louise

I’m a qualified football ground steward and I’ve scored a goal at The Racecourse ground in Wrexham. I love Lanzarote, live music, darts and I’ve flown an aeroplane doing loop-the-loops and barrel rolls! Get me!

Louise’s theme inspiration

My own wedding was very Welsh/Celtic/Yellow and I wouldn’t change this, even if I did it all over again (which I’m not planning on doing!!).

Wedding venue

Surprisingly, it’s in Wales! Crogen Hall is a beautiful setting in North Wales. It has a civil licence for 50, which would be perfect for our intimate wedding. There are many sites around the 2500-acre estate to site a marquee for our large evening reception.

Wedding outfits & accessories

I’d choose a strapless A-line dress with a half-length train, a gold Celtic knot tiara and a ruby and diamond necklace to match my engagement ring. I’d have my hair half-up half-down with a veil and natural makeup. I like comfy shoes, so I’d go for a pair that are not too high with a peep toe - and a sixpence!

My husband would wear a dashing Welsh National kilt, gold Welsh dragon cufflinks and a small narcissus buttonhole. We’d complete the look with matching yellow gold Celtic knot wedding rings.

Each bridesmaid would have a style of dress to suit her, but the dresses would all be the same colour. Ushers would wear a Prince of Wales suit with white waistcoat and golden yellow cravat.

My wedding flowers would be Daffodils. Hand held bouquets of white and yellow for me, and yellow for the bridesmaids. All the daytime guests would each wear a small yellow narcissus with orange trumpets as buttonholes.

Wedding details

I would keep it quite simple using daffodils as table centrepieces and red felt hearts scattered on the tables to bring out the red in the Welsh kilt. I’d carry my Welsh yellow wedding theme to my stationery, which would feature daffodils, Celtic knot patterns and a font I like called Dumbledore. The cake would be something a bit different – a hexagon shape with two or three tiers, white icing, a gold Celtic knot pattern around the edge and topped with fresh daffodils.

Because of my love of aeroplanes, the Red Arrows flying over after the wedding breakfast is a must! And a DJ playing all our favourite songs in the evening for a real party atmosphere!

Diolch Louise, your wedding theme is pure Welsh gold! See the rest of Louise’s pins. If you’d like to visit Crogen Hall, or for more information, please call our friendly team on 01992 660329 or email Isabel.
