Combermere Abbey - Wedding Venue in Shropshire/Cheshire

Combermere Abbey with its Glasshouse and Walled Garden Pavilion is 'one of the most romantic places in Europe' as decreed by Elizabeth Empress of Austria. This historic estate, sits on the border of Cheshire and Shropshire, and offers a stunning one of a kind experience for couple tying the knot, re-affirming their vows or celebrating anniversaries. At the end of a mile long drive through ancient parkland and trees, the venue offers one of the most peaceful and romantic settings. The Glasshouse seats up to 120 guests (or up to 60 for winter ceremonies and wedding breakfasts) with 180 degree views of the gardens. Simply and elegantly presented, it is set up for the ceremony and has toilets and a kitchen attached.

The stunning Walled Garden Pavilion provides a state of the art reception and dining space for up to 150 guests and is available between March 1 and December 31. It is fully equipped with lighting, carpets, tables, chairs, toilets and catering facilities. Couples are looked after by our Events Team with a dedicated Front of House manager on duty throughout the wedding day.

Following a recent change in law, Cheshire couples may now get married 'en plein air' between April and October, and have the unique opportunity of marrying in the world's only Fruit Tree Maze!! (weather permitting!) Combermere also offers a great wedding package in their fabulous 5* accommodation for families and guests just yards from the wedding venue. We offer 14 rooms in 6 beautifully appointed cottages, sleeping max 27. This will increase to 35 rooms, sleeping a max of 49 guests in June 2011.

A dedicated bridal hideaway can be rented by the honeymoon couple - a romantic C19 Gothic lodge complete with breakfast hamper, champagne and roses.
