On arrival at Wasing Park, couples will be enchanted by the picturesque and elegant estate; a collection of historical buildings set in charming Berkshire countryside.
Imaginative and inviting, Wasing Park is a wonderful wedding venue with an individual style; a stunning Victorian Summerhouse, a Castle Barn and the superb Stables Lodge hotel.
Romantic, truly unique and a remarkable addition to Wasing Park is the Victorian Summerhouse. Located in the Terrace Garden, the summerhouse is traditionally built with a white wooden frame, roof and internally, wooden seating to all sides. It is surrounded by luscious green lawns and offers breathtaking views of the grounds, and as such, is often used for the ceremony in spring and summer. The interior of the Victorian Summerhouse has been painted by renowned muralist Clarissa Parish who has carefully hand-painted flowers, cherry trees in bloom, birds and butterflies, creating a colourful mural, which makes for a pretty photo.
Wasing Park also offers other options for the ceremony, including the Garden Room and the parish Church of St Nicholas. The Garden Room is a light, and contemporary building set within the pretty walled gardens at Wasing Park. With floor to ceiling windows that flood the space with natural daylight, white walls, wooden floors and distinctive glass ceiling lights, the Garden Room offers a modern ambiance for brides and grooms to exchange their vows. The picturesque parish Church of St Nicolas sits within the grounds at Wasing Park. A wonderful 15th Century chapel that boasts an authentic exterior, stunning stained glass windows and a white timber-clad turret which is home to a historic cast iron bell that is still rung today.
The focal point is the Castle Barn; a contemporary and chic barn that works exceptionally well for the wedding breakfast and evening party. The entrance is impressive, with an arched glass doorway set beneath crenelated walls. Blending traditional design features internally, such as exposed brick walls with arrow slits allowing for candles, huge oak beams with modern Italian mood lighting. The Castle Barn is a special wedding venue that sets the scene for a wonderfully romantic day.
Wasing Park also offers a boutique hotel, the Stables Lodge. Set around a charming courtyard, the hotel was originally the stables to the manor house and they have been converted to offer nine elegant en-suite guest bedrooms. Decorated in dramatic dark shades and warm earthy tones, teamed with walnut furniture, the bedrooms are sumptuous and come complete with all modern comforts. An open-plan living area is available to guests, with the lounge area featuring a log burner surrounded by couches and the dining room with a huge chunky wooden table and chairs. Within the Stable Lodge is the luxurious honeymoon suite, a room that boasts the biggest bed in Berkshire and a space that is simply perfect for the bride and groom to spend some quality time together after their big day. For guests, Wasing Park provides a further 13 superb, new guest bedrooms. There are two self-catering properties on the estate (subject to availability); The Bothy, a two bedroom cottage, and Home Farmhouse, a six bedroom property, ideal for those wanting to stay at the venue the night before their big day.
A beautiful barn wedding venue like no other, Wasing Park is secluded, sophisticated and stylish, fusing country traditions with contemporary touches.
