All about Swynford Manor

Offering style and sophistication, this delightfully rural venue is exclusively yours on your wedding day, providing you with a secluded and peaceful setting to celebrate in with your guests.

The manor house itself dates back to the early 18th Century and was once the home of Lord Byron's sister. The famed poet would often visit and take to the gardens to compose his work. Formerly Paddocks House, it was the setting where racehorses were trained to compete at the Newmarket racecourse. While the architecture of the house portrays its historic origins, the interior offers something entirely different. Boasting a striking black and white colour scheme, luxurious furnishings throughout, and some truly decadent features to top it all off, Swynford Manor exudes elegance and grandeur.

The venue offers a choice of delightful settings where you can say ‘I do’. The Study is an elegant and light-filled space, that’s home to chic décor and capable of seating up to 100 guests. Couples can also exchange their vows in the spectacular Garden Room, or take the celebrations outdoors, using the impressive pergola as the focal point for your ceremony, both of which can cater for 150 guests. With the garden path as your aisle and the surrounding trees providing a tranquil and secluded atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to tie the knot.

Once you've tied the knot, the entire venue is yours to enjoy with your guests. Why not take your party outside and hold your drinks reception al fresco? The immaculate lawns and gardens are beautifully kept and are surrounded by impressive trees that provide a wonderfully secluded feeling. The elevated terrace is a wonderful spot to sit and soak up the sun while enjoying a celebratory glass of champagne. It's perfect for relaxing and mingling with guests before being whisked off to make the most of all the spectacular locations for photographs.

When it comes to your wedding breakfast and reception, the Garden Room is the perfect setting. It combines chic décor, high-quality furniture, and an incredible amount of windows and skylights that fill the spacious room with sunlight. It all makes for a unique and unforgettable setting to enjoy a mouth-watering meal, prepared by the venue’s expert, in-house team of chefs. This remarkable room can comfortably hold 150 of your friends and family and at night becomes the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and evening reception. Guests can enjoy a dance on the chequerboard dancefloor or mingle in the elegant adjoining bar and lounge.

Arguably the most spectacular aspect of this magnificent venue is the accommodation. Complete with a huge bed, a delightful copper bath (in the bedroom, we might add), a separate dressing area and, of course, your own private cinema room, the honeymoon suite offers the highest level of comfort and opulence for you to enjoy.

Your friends and family can revel in the same standard of luxury too, with 12 bedrooms that are all finished to the same incredible standards as the honeymoon. They can wake up feeling revitalised and ready to relive all the unforgettable moments of the day before when they join you in the Breakfast Room. With such remarkable décor and every comfort you could wish for, Swynford Manor’s accommodation really sets it apart from other venues.
