All about St Giles House

This stunning Grade I Listed manor house boasts a long and rich history, dating back to 1651. The current owners have carefully restored the house back to its former glory, making it a wonderful family home and remarkable wedding venue in the process. Offering couples an exquisite traditional setting, idyllic grounds to enjoy with your guests, and beautiful views over the River Allen and surrounding Dorset countryside, it's truly a wedding venue like no other.

When it comes to tying the knot, St. Giles House offers a wealth of stunning locations for couples to choose from. All of the principal rooms of the house are available, with the largest accommodating up to 120 guests. Each boasts a delightful, traditional style complete with grand fireplaces and old master paintings adorning the walls.

The Shell Grotto forms part of the Pleasure Grounds and was built in the early 18th century using shells collected from the Caribbean. It's perfect for an intimate ceremony, holding up to 20 guests and is a truly unique and magical setting.

To make the most of the idyllic grounds of St. Giles House, couples can also exchange vows anywhere throughout the park, providing the register is signed indoors. It's a wonderful way to enjoy the great outdoors and will result in some incredible wedding photos too.

Those preferring a religious ceremony can make full use of the Wimborne St. Giles Church, which is just next door to the venue. It's a striking building that offers a traditional and graceful setting to say ‘I do' and can hold up to 120 guests.

The best way to celebrate your newly married status is with a glass of Champagne and the drawing rooms, with their elegant silk wallpaper and open fires, provide the perfect setting for a drinks reception. In the warmer months, couples can take the party out onto the terrace and the sunken garden overlooking the picturesque grounds.

For your wedding breakfast, choose between the grand State Dining Room, stunning North or South Drawing Rooms, or traditional Library, each of which offer a remarkable place to wine and dine in style.

Once the feasting is over, the party moves to the Stone Hall where you and your guests can dance the night away under the huge disco ball. The perfect way to end a perfect day!

Plans are underway to add eight luxurious bedrooms to this stunning Dorset wedding venue, meaning that couples and their friends and family will be able to spend the night within this incredible estate. For the meantime, St. Giles House can recommend a number of hotels, pubs and B&Bs that will accommodate you and your guests.
