All about Gaynes Park
With sweeping views of the London skyline and surrounded by English countryside, farmland and woodland, Gaynes Park is a contemporary barn wedding venue in a traditional rural setting.
An elegant and sophisticated venue that is truly unique, Gaynes Park boasts immaculately restored listed barns, an Orangery, beautiful gardens and luxury boutique accommodation.
Weddings can take place in one of three locations: the Orangery, Gather Barn or Mill Barn. The beautiful Orangery is located in the walled garden on the site of an old Victorian conservatory and is a stylish building with exposed oak beams and central double doors that maximise natural light, warmth, ambience and views to the gardens. It is approached from the Long Walk, through the Heart Gate and up the central ‘garden aisle’ which leads you through the walled gardens to finish at the conservatory doors ensuring a dramatic entrance for the bride.
Couples can make the most of the spectacular gardens by holding a blessing or humanist ceremony in a myriad of locations. Exchanging vows with the London cityscape on the horizon or colourful flowers all around you will provide memories that will last a lifetime.
The magnificent and spacious Mill Barn is supported by four tree trunks that are hundreds of years old. Enhanced with floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrance and overlooking the courtyard at the rear, the barn is a fantastic choice for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Flooded with natural light, it has high vaulted ceilings and a mezzanine gallery with Raj-style furniture and table lanterns that makes it a perfect location for those looking to chill out or take a break from the dancing without missing a thing.
Providing the grand entrance to Mill Barn is the Gather Barn; an attractive open-sided listed building which is surrounded by elegant planters and foliage and offers an idyllic setting for an outside ceremony. From dusk, it can be attractively lit with twinkling fairy lights and uplights for a magical effect.
As stunning as the barns themselves are the grounds at Gaynes Park, which are breathtaking. The Long Walk boasts year-round colour thanks to established herbaceous borders, traditional roses, bulbs and perennial shrubs. An enchanting place to reflect before the ceremony and for the first photos after the exchange of vows, it is an oasis of calm with its well-tended borders and colourful blooms. Equally impressive is the Walled Garden, which is a lovely location for mingling with a drinks reception or to play garden games or returning to for spectacular moonlit photos against the pavilion.
The Apple Loft Cottage provides the perfect location to prepare before you say ‘I do’. It has been lovingly restored to an exceptional standard and comes complete with an elegant, stylish and luxurious interior. What’s more, this relaxing space is fully equipped so that you can put all the finishing touches to your look before you take the Long Walk to your ceremony setting.
Gaynes Park offers many romantic locations for special photographs. From the Heart Gate to the Pavilion with its hundreds of fairy lights, the new ‘London lookout’ with sweeping views of the Capital’s skyline, and the Walled Garden and grounds, photographers will not be short of inspiration and the images will illustrate the magic of the day.
With its serene atmosphere and country views, Gaynes Park could be miles from anywhere. This stunning wedding venue and all it offers for a fabulous country barn wedding is just a stone’s throw from London and easily accessible from all areas of the South East.
