On arrival at Dodmoor House, the Grade II listed house instantly appeals with its attractive exterior. Built with Northamptonshire stone, timber windows and slate tiles on the roof, the property is cottage-like in style and provides a pretty backdrop for photographs. Enchanting and with a rich history, Dodmoor House is intimate and inviting, ideal for a laid back country wedding.
Positioned beside Dodmoor House are two beautiful barns, which have been sympathetically restored creating breathtaking buildings that work well for weddings.
The Courtyard Barn is grand yet not imposing and is typically used for the ceremony. The conversion project was carefully undertaken ensuring many of its original features were retained, including exposed stone walls and authentic oak beams. It also enjoys contemporary touches, such as five sets of glass arched double doors along one side, allowing natural light to flood the space, and modern mood lighting.
The Catesby Barn is a double height Grade II listed barn that is aesthetically appealing, blending old and new together. With its polished oak floor, floor to ceiling glass entrance and chic cream finished walls, the traditional barn has been transformed into a thoroughly modern setting for the wedding breakfast.
Touches of the original barn remain, such as some exposed brick and exposed beams. The ground floor is the ideal place for dining while upstairs on the first floor, the bar can be found. Ensuring the party atmosphere flows throughout the day and night, the barn features a stunning ‘Juliet’ mezzanine balcony, so every moment of the party can be captured.
Sitting within the four acre estate of Dodmoor House is the honeymoon suite, a bedroom with wrought-iron bed, vintage-style pieces of furniture and oak arched patio doors leading to a small private terrace. Together with an en suite bathroom that enjoys a freestanding roll top bath, this is the perfect place for any newly married couple to spend their first night.
The award-winning Dodmoor House is a boutique barn wedding venue. With its secluded setting in idyllic countryside, it is clear to see why it is one of the UK’s much sought-after luxury wedding venue and was the first venue to win the National Wedding Industry Award for venue of the year for a second time in 2016.
