All about Healey Barn

Boutique, beautiful and intimate barn wedding venue, Healey Barn is located in the small village of Healey just a few miles from Corbridge in the Tyne Valley.

Fusing old and new, Healey Barn is a superb wedding venue that is unique and enjoys an eclectic style; a collection of traditional stone farm buildings with a chic interior design, a charming courtyard with sheltered seating and the Bride’s Room.

Adding a touch of history and heritage to Healey Barn are the buildings themselves, attractive farm buildings that have been restored externally to their original purpose. The slate tiles, original brickwork and timber frames combine together to create a traditional barn which is aesthetically appealing. Internally, the barns have been refurbished offering authenticity, such as exposed brick walls and ceiling beams, as well as contemporary touches, including copper industrial lights above the bar, fairy lights and an elegant oversized glass entrance.

The main barn is The Long Barn; an enchanting space to exchange vows with its spectacular oak ‘raised cruck’ roof, three giant candelabras, wall-mounted candle holders and a large, open fire. It also works well for a drinks reception after a church wedding and as the dance floor.

Joining the Long Barn is the Dining Room; the former cow byre. With a modern glass wall overlooking the courtyard on one side and a row of windows to the other, providing picture perfect views of the Northumbrian countryside, this building is filled with natural light and is typically used for the wedding breakfast. Within the barn is a copper-clad bar, a stunning addition and always a favourite meeting point.

The barns are set around a courtyard, a peaceful and picturesque place for guests to enjoy drinks during the day and night. Furnished with three oak planters with seats around them, wooden benches, umbrella-topped trees and planted troughs and borders and lit by two fire pits and decorative lanterns, the courtyard is a stunning spot at Healey Barn and the perfect place for toasting marshmallows! There is also a little snug in the corner; a sheltered spot with garden furniture and fairy lights.

Completing this luxurious venue is the beautiful Bride’s Room. Located close to the Long Room, the bride can make her final preparations with her bridesmaids and spend a moment with her father before making her grand entrance. The newly-weds can also utilise the room to capture a few minutes alone during the day.

Inviting and inspiring, Healey Barn is undoubtedly a unique wedding venue in Northumberland, and is set to be one of the UK’s much loved locations to marry.
