Just seven miles north of Oxford and on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, Kirtlington Park is one of the UK’s most impressive manor houses; a venue perfect for country weddings.

Grand, imposing and elegant, Kirtlington Park is a property that will excite you and take your breath away; a beautiful Grade I listed building, an inviting interior of a by-gone era, a stylish bridal suite and famous grounds.

Standing proudly surrounded by perfectly manicured lawns is Kirtlington Park; a Palladian country house built in the 18th century. On arrival at the property you are instantly transported back in time, admiring the house’s rich heritage. The entrance is exquisite, with a double staircase meeting at the arched front door. The intricate stone work, sash windows and original ornate design of the building’s exterior have been retained, ensuring its history and character remain evident.

Internally, Kirtlington Park is a traditional country residence that lends itself well to weddings. With two sweeping mahogany staircases, the bride can choose which works best for her all-important arrival. The ceremony takes place in a delightful reception room. With distinctive pieces of furniture dotted about, vintage artwork covering the walls and floor to ceiling windows flooding the room with light, the space is homely, light, airy and magical.

For the wedding breakfast, the Elegant Hall is an excellent choice. Full of grandeur, the walls of the room are decorated in cream, adorned with large gold mirrors and oversized framed oil paintings of English noblemen. Focal features include Roman statues and pillars as well as the dome ceilings with decorative detail. Alternatively the Grey Drawing Room is available. Again, the room has a neutral décor with the walls decorated in a pleasing pale grey shade, but it is equally opulent with chandelier wall lights creating a most romantic ambiance and large open fires adding a cosy touch.

The Saloon Room is ideally suited to dancing after dinner. It is spacious, boasts a beautiful wooden floor and benefits from double doors that open up onto the garden terrace, giving guests the chance to enjoy the outdoor space.

Kirtlington Park also provides a Bridal Suite. The exquisite bedroom and en suite bathroom can be used by the bride and her bridesmaids ahead of the ceremony to make their final hair and make-up preparations. Dressed with traditional furniture and accessorised with vintage rugs and a free-standing mirror, it is a comfortable and calm space. It is also a lovely place for the newly-married couple to escape to capture some special together time as man and wife during the day.

The grounds are vast; gorgeous mature parklands tended to by famous landscape gardener “Capability” Brown. The lush green lawns are great for summer weddings, while the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside makes for a picture-perfect backdrop for photographs all year round.
