1. Pendrell Hall, Staffordshire
Pendrell Hall is approached up a long a wooded driveway and overlooks a terraced garden and beautiful parkland. This elegantly furnished redbrick house features an ornate oak staircase, an Arts and Crafts oak Inglenook that has wood panelled walls and an elaborate arcaded overmantle, plus a stunning Ballroom with large decorative stained-glass skylights and parquet flooring.
The extravagant Bridal Preparation Suite has an en suite bathroom and full-length mirrors. Although the Suite is not available to stay in overnight, a further three bedroom suites within the Hall will be available from Summer 2014. 2. Crogen Hall, North Wales
Whether you’re planning a marquee wedding or a small informal celebration, Crogen Hall can cater for your needs. This versatile wedding venue has overnight accommodation in its Coach House, in a newly refurbished private wing and in the romantic Bryn Awel cottage, a perfect honeymoon hideaway.
This wedding venue only hosts a few weddings each year and the emphasis is very much on “your day, your way”. All weekend hire is possible. Outdoor activities are available too and there is a wide range to suit everyone including tennis, fishing and clay pigeon shooting.
3. Barton House, Oxfordshire
For the ultimate luxury experience, look no further than Barton House. This sumptuous wedding venue has been recently refurbished to the highest standards and could quite easily have jumped out of the pages of Country Living. There are nine individually styled en suite bedrooms, a large Garden Room, Drawing Room and even a movie/games room complete with DJ decks.
Your wedding at Barton House can be completely tailored to suit you. Everything from a Champagne and canapé reception for 100 to a five-course fine dining supper for 12 is possible. Most weddings hire the house exclusively for the whole weekend, beginning with afternoon tea on Friday and rounding off with a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning.
