Hello brides and grooms-to-be. It’s meet the team time and today it’s the turn of Josh, our marketing and administration assistant. Josh has only been here at CHWV a couple of months, but he’s pulled together some quirky wedding ideas for an intimate, yet, action packed day. Let’s hope he asks the bride’s opinion first though…
I went travelling around South East Asia last year for 4 months and now well and truly have the travelling bug. I love sport - and a good tipple afterwards, of course. But my biggest passion, which I have spent years practicing and perfecting, is... eating.
Josh’s wedding venue
I chose Gaynes Park because I love the open-air feeling it has. This wedding venue has a large capacity without losing its exclusive and intimate feel. As I have a large family this makes it ideal for accommodating all.
Josh’s theme inspiration
My Pinterest board revolves around a summer wedding theme. As the day is about two families becoming one I would ensure there were plenty of opportunities for guests to socialise and relax. I'm pretty sure my wedding won’t have a designated seating chart. Just a few spots for a few people and everyone else can just find somewhere!
Wedding outfits & accessories
I like grey or dark blue suits and I’d wear blue suede shoes. Accessories-wise, I’d splash out on a nice TAG Heuer watch. I’m sure my other half would choose her own dress, but I’m quite partial to strapless gowns with a full skirt. I’ve gone with a bit of a blue colour scheme, so the bridesmaids could wear light blue and the ushers could have the same coloured ties.
Some nice blue hydrangea’s to contribute to the wedding theme. I like the style of the naked cake as they add a modern touch to the day. I prefer a flan though. An alternative Jenga guest book makes for a memorable reflection of the day and allows guests to get a bit creative! Mini Burger canapés is a lavish way of doing good pub grub.
Wedding Entertainment is an important factor for me and it would allow guests to enjoy themselves and get the party atmosphere going. I would like a DJ that would play some of my favourite songs - I’d get a dance off started and combine Flash Dance with MC Hammer.
Thanks Josh, you’ve certainly picked up this wedding lark pretty fast! See the rest of Josh’s pins. If you’d like to visit Gaynes Park, or for more information, please call our friendly team on 01992 660329 or email Isabel.
