The Great Gatsby is finally released in UK cinemas next week and we can’t wait to see it! Set against the backdrop of 1920s America, this tale of love, lies and shattered illusions stars Leonardo DiCaprio (swoon!) as Jay Gatsby and gorgeous Carey Mulligan as socialite Daisy Buchanan. The film’s amazing Prada-designed costumes and opulent interiors are tipped to be the inspiration for many 2013 and 2014 nuptials. Here are a few ideas for a Great Gatsby themed wedding...
For flapper-girl chic, think shimmering gowns adorned with crystals, beading or sequins and accessories with feathers and pearls. A velvet or faux fur shawl would amp up the glamour factor and a statement headpiece finishes things off nicely.

A chic, sophisticated wedding venue with old world charm is the perfect setting for a Great Gatsby-inspired wedding. 116 Pall Mall in London is a suitably stylish location with an imposing columned entrance and jaw-droppingly grand staircase.

Vintage bling is the order of the day. A wedding venue with crystal chandeliers and ornate interiors will do a lot of the work for you - simply add heaps of stunning flowers and a champagne tower. Art Deco was born in the 20s so include geometric designs in your stationery, table plan or placecards. Good colour themes are emerald, jade, topaz and precious metals.
The jazz age was a feature of the 1920s, when jazz music and dancing swept the USA. Hire a vintage gramophone on which to play some classic Charleston records or have a jazz band and party like it’s 1929!
