Entries for The Wedding Industry Awards 2015 opened in May 2014, covering an impressive 27 categories over seven regions. Categories encompassed all that is exciting in the world of weddings, from Best Florist and Best Cake Designer to Best Photographer and Best Stationery. This year also saw two new venue categories – Best Venue (Countryside) and Best Venue (Town and City).
Country House Wedding Venues and Galloping Gourmet were delighted to act as sponsors for the regional events, announcing regional winners in November ahead of the National Awards in January 2015.
Wednesday 19th November 2014 saw the regional event for the West Midlands, held at Mythe Barn in Atherstone. Guests enjoyed a Lanson Champagne Reception and delicious food stalls and bowl food created by Galloping Gourmet.
At Country House Wedding Venues, we were thrilled to see eight of our beautiful venues reach Regional Finalists for the West Midlands in the Best Countryside Venue category.
Firstly, our congratulations go to The Ashes – an exclusive use country house barn venue set in rural countryside at the foothills of the Peak District National Park. Winners of the Best Wedding Venue at the National Wedding Industry Awards last year, it’s no surprise to see this stunning venue as regional finalists once more. The West Barn makes a wonderful ceremony venue, with couples enjoying their mouthwatering wedding breakfast in the elegant East Barn.

Also crowned as regional finalists for the West Midlands, Iscoyd Park is a private house overlooking the borders of North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. A winning combination of character and history with contemporary facilities, ceremonies are held in the magical Garden Room or the more intimate Drawing Room with its large Georgian windows. The Permanent Marquee is connected directly to the house and makes an idyllic spot for a wedding breakfast, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling!
The impressive Warwick House near Royal Leamington Spa is just the place for couples looking to tie the knot in Shakespeare’s county. All ground floor rooms are licensed for ceremonies, which can also take place outdoors under the beautiful gazebo. With nine en-suite bedrooms, couples can relax and enjoy this venue as their own. The Bridal Suite offers an elegant four-posted bed and Jacuzzi bath – you may never want to leave!
Breathtaking Mythe Barn was chosen as another regional finalist for the West Midlands. In the heart of the Midlands and surrounded by picturesque countryside, this brand new barn wedding venue has been created specifically for weddings. Couples can say ‘I do’ in the magnificent Oak Barn before enjoying welcome drinks in The Courtyard. The contemporary Grain Store can seat up to 150 for dining, with bespoke menus created by superb caterers Galloping Gourmet.

Curradine Barns offer the ultimate in romance – idyllic barns set in Shrawley, Worcestershire. Granary Barn is a beautiful wedding barn licensed for ceremonies and with a stunning chandelier and minstrels’ gallery. The Barley Barn offers itself as the perfect setting for a wedding breakfast. With oak beams, large windows and barn doors opening on to the beautiful courtyard, it’s easy to see why this is such a popular venue.

Congratulations also to go Packington Moor - in the heart of the countryside between Tamworth and Lichfield yet easily reached by the M6. Civil ceremonies here take place in the Oat Barn with its dramatic vaulted ceiling, while the Malt Barn provides a grand dining area for up to 160 guests. Walter’s Cottage is a newly restored honeymoon suite – prefer for newlyweds.

Delbury Hall, an imposing Georgian mansion in Shropshire, is surrounded by 80 acres of landscaped parkland with gardens featuring ornamental lakes and rose gardens. Its Coach House makes a perfect wedding venue – seating up to 130 guests for a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast. Romantic couples might even choose the pagoda in the garden for their ceremony.
Finally in this category, we send our heart-felt congratulations to Alrewas Hayes in the Staffordshire – our eighth regional finalist for the West Midlands. A Grade II listed manor house, this can be exclusively yours for your big day. Civil ceremonies take place in one of two rooms in the house, after which guests are invited to enjoy a glass of bubbly in the Courtyard. Following celebrations, Alrewas Hayes also offers luxury boutique accommodation in The Bently Suite, The Coach House and The Honeymoon Suite.
