Top Apps for Planning Your Wedding

Top Apps for Planning Your Wedding | CHWV

We scoured the internet to bring you the best apps and tools to help you plan your wedding and keep track of everything in one place.

When planning a wedding, any tool that can make the process easier and assist you in the organisation is a godsend. We decided to find the best apps out there to help you plan, gather photos or count calories, and bring them straight to your fingertips.

1. Wedding Party

Price: FREE
Compatible with: Android, iOS, Desktop, Digital Camera

The concept behind Wedding Party app is that it wants you to ‘view your wedding through the eyes of your guests’.

By setting up a free account, you can invite your guests by text or email to join in on the fun and upload all of their photos and candid moments from your wonderful day so that you don’t miss a minute of it.

With a sleek interface that resembles the news feed of a certain social networking site, you can scroll through all of the uploaded photos, comments and notes that your guests leave for you.

But it is so much more than just a photo-sharing app. In advance of your wedding day you can also share your event schedule, gift registry and accommodation details for any guests wanting to stay over.

The app also provides you with helpful tips for planning your wedding and custom place card templates featuring your wedding site that you can download and place on the tables.

2. Appy Couple

Similar to Wedding Party App, Appy Couple allows you to create your own wedding mini-site where guests can RSVP, browse your preferred gift list, research transport options, view venue and itinerary details and much more.

It also allows you to collect guest photos of the big day for you to enjoy after the event.

You get a free wedding app and website, and can choose from over 400 lovely designs to find the perfect one to match your wedding theme.

You can make it as public or private as you want, and with all of its handy extras you can manage items such as your guest list and RSVPs with ease.

You can also design and print mini-table cards to inform guests of the app so they can download and share their photos with you.

4. Pinterest

Price: FREE
Compatible with: iOS, Android, Desktop

Totally obvious but totally perfect; Pinterest needs no introduction.

If you are not already browsing and repining all of the stunning wedding inspiration to be had on Pinterest, you should stop what you’re doing and go do that right now.

And the icing on the cake is that you can set up a secret board that only you and your closest confidants can see, inviting your bridal party to also pin to your private board of inspiration.

5. The Colour Genius

Price: FREE
Compatible with: iOS, Android

A makeup matchmaking app that helps you to decide if you want to ‘Match It’, ‘Blend It’ or ‘Clash It’ that comes from L’Oréal Paris.

The app invites you to take and upload a photo of your outfit and then gives you suggestions on make-up and nail polish colours to wear with it.

Perfect for your bridesmaids to know how to align their beauty plans with your chosen colour scheme, although we wouldn’t recommend going for the clash option!

6. myFitnessPal

Price: FREE
Compatible with: Android, iOS, Windows, Blackberry

For those brides that find themselves calorie counting before their big day, this app has the calorie information for not only a huge range of foods, but also from eateries such as Pret-A-Manger and Pizza Express.

The app is designed to help those brides (and anyone else) wanting to lose weight make sure they go about it in a healthy way and currently have over 500 million members already doing so.

7. Postable

Price: N/A Compatible with: Desktop

Not technically an app, but a very cute and useful website so we thought we’d mention it anyway!

Postable takes the hassle out of remembering and organising to send the dreaded thank-you cards, by offering to do it for you.

Simply create a free and secure online address book that your guests can complete, select a thank-you card from a range of stunningly cute designs (they also do save the date’s), customise and write as many as you need and then sit back and let Postable print and post them for you.

We think this is a great idea, and a fuss-free alternative to thanking your guests for being a part of your perfect day.
