Winter wedding colours

Traditional: White is THE classic wedding colour and looks enchanting in any season. It's a great choice to mirror the chilly conditions outside though and, when combined with flickering candles, it makes a perfect addition to any winter wedding.

Contemporary: Silver and icy crystal accents are a modern way to glam up your winter wedding. You could turn your ceremony into a winter wonderland with snowy white velvet on the altar or registrar's table. And a glittering crystal archway entwined with delicate white flowers. Or mix things up with navy blue, chocolate-brown or aubergine-purple colour scheme instead.

Winter wedding invitations

Traditional: White cards with silver or gold writing are effortlessly elegant for a winter marriage. If your wedding is formal, choose an old-fashioned typeface. Or if you're getting hitched in a more relaxed setting, opt for hand drawn-style lettering.

Contemporary: Consider different stocks other than card for your invitations. If you're having a rustic affair, an invitation made of wood is an unusual twist. Or try thick perspex invites – the lettering will look like it's printed on an icy slice.
