The Wedding Dress
The prize for the most impressive wedding outfit could possibly go to Catherine Zeta-Jones. Tying the knot with Michael Douglas at New York’s Plaza Hotel, she wore a diamond tiara which cost £200,000 and a Christian Lacroix gown with a price tag of around £90,000. Christina Aguilera also splashed out on a Christian Lacroix gown, although a little less pricey at just £50,000.

Kim Kardashian splashed out on three Vera Wang dresses, each at a cost of around £13,000, and spent significantly more than that on diamonds for her wedding to Kris Humphries. While the wedding is rumoured to have cost around £13 million, the couple actually made a profit, with E! News footing most of the bill and People magazine paying for exclusive rights to the wedding photos. For her wedding to Kanye West, she wore just one dress – a £250,000 Givenchy gown designed by Riccardo Tisci.

One of the most expensive dresses ever made has yet to find a bride. Created by Japanese designer Yumi Katsura, it is made of white gold and features an 8.8 carat green diamond, a five-carat white gold diamond, over 1000 pearls and hand-stitched embroidery. The cost? Around £5.5 million.

Liza Minnelli and David Gest had one of the most extravagant weddings in history, their 12-tiered cake in black and white with red and purple sugar roses costing upwards of £25,000.
