Let’s face it, we’d all love a taste of the celebrity lifestyle.
We got in touch with leading online travel agency, Holiday Hypermarket for their insight on the top celebrity honeymoon destinations.
So to give us the low down on the top honeymoon haunts that our fellow A-listers have graced after their nuptials and how you can replicate that Hollywood sparkle.
IRELAND: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Last year, Kim ‘n’ Kanye picked Ashford Castle, Ireland for their getaway, proving that romance does not always mean exotic destinations. What is more romantic than being a Princess for two weeks? Enjoying fine food and wine and strolling the Emerald Isle’s magnificent coast, with castles that wouldn’t be out of place in a Disney blockbuster. After all, most honeymooners rarely leave the room, so why not make sure it’s a grand one?
Ireland is just a short hop over the Irish Sea, not a long haul flight, so even if you don’t save money on the hotel honeymoon suite, you may find you save money on flights here, if not the room itself.
SCOTLAND: Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll
Kate Winslet has always been on the forefront of shunning celebrity behaviour, and when she married Ned Rocknroll in 2013 they had a very un-rock’n’roll honeymoon over Hogmanay in Scotland. Much like the wedding itself, the details of where the A-list couple stayed have been kept quiet, but there is no doubt that Scotland is a gorgeous part of the world to honeymoon in.
Stay anywhere from a castle to a cottage on the shores of one of its many sprawling loch’s. Feel like you two are the only ones in the world as you walk the across the iconic Highlands. A perfect getaway for those who don’t fancy flying, or those who simply fancy a staycation.
BORA BORA: Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter
Glowing with happiness (and lovely tans), Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter have just returned from an amazing ten days in Bora Bora. Last year, many fans of the Sherlock TV series were bitterly disappointed when The Times announced the heart-throb’s engagement.
BUT—if you can’t have Benedict, you can at least have his honeymoon. Bora Bora is a great destination if you want a holiday of a lifetime and have been saving up – the South Pacific island has the exotic weather and classic white sand beaches to ensure your honeymoon is a perfect tropical paradise.
HAWAII: Jenson Button and Jessica Michibata
Formula 1 racing driver Jenson Button and his fiancée, model Jessica Michibita, headed for Hawaii after getting married on Christmas day. Hawaii is a fabulous destination for sun, sea, sand and surfing, and if you want to make the most of the all the dieting and trips to the gym you made in order to look fabulous on your wedding day, slipping into a bikini and jumping on a surfboard in Hawaii is a great way to do it.
So, are you planning to cosy up in a cottage or splashing around on a beach? Share your plans on our Facebook page and we’ll be keeping an eye on all the celebrities getting married this year for yet more ideas!
