This Jacobean manor house and its glorious grounds provide a most enchanting setting for an intimate country wedding. The sandstone manor house stands proudly in a valley garden deep in a lost Dorset combe among tumbling hills and rolling countryside. From a croquet lawn, formal topiary and tree lined paths to the wild garden, secret archways and pond, Mapperton offers outstanding unspoilt landscape. Couples often choose to exchange vows outdoors, with the Garden Pavilion, a Roman-inspired natural stone structure, presenting a rustically romantic spot. The drinks reception and wedding breakfast take place in the Orangery, a resplendent location for guests to dine and dance the night away.

With classical paintings and family portraits adorning the walls, antique furniture, chandeliers and cosy, roaring fires, the rooms have a historical and homely feel. The party takes place in the Garden Room, which is transformed into a contemporary club-like setting with creative lighting and stylish bar. There is even a chill out zone; the Pagoda. For the bride and groom and the bridal party, there are three bedrooms within the house plus a further five on the estate in the Stables and Laundry Cottage.
