Set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, Stanbrook Abbey offers you everything you could want from your wedding. There are 14 individual function rooms for you to use throughout your celebrations, 52 beautifully appointed bedroom suites – as well as a charming Brides Manor – and of course the awe-inspiring views of the Malvern Hills.
From arrival to your ceremony…
The experience of a Stanbrook Abbey wedding starts with your drive up to the Victorian Gothic building. Oozing grace and grandeur, the former monastery sets the tone for your splendid celebrations ahead.
While there are a number of fabulous spaces available for your ceremony, our personal favourite is The Callow Great Hall, licenced for weddings with up to 190 guests. The restored Hall, which was once a chapel, is perfectly suited to traditional weddings. It has an impressive vaulted ceiling and simply beautiful stained glass windows, providing a magnificent backdrop for your vows.
A whole host of settings for your celebrations
As you leave your ceremony, you’ll move from one grand space to another as you enjoy a sophisticated drinks reception out on the lawns. With the Malvern Hills behind you and quirky features like Duck Island to explore, there will certainly be no shortage of photo opportunities outdoors.
While the grounds offer up lots of opportunities for entertainment and photos, one thing we love about them is their serene and calming atmosphere. Sat amongst 22 acres of land, Stanbrook Abbey has the feeling of a private wedding retreat. Relaxed and yours for the day, we can’t think of where else you’d rather spend a summer’s day.
Stanbrook Abbey continues to deliver charming settings into your reception, offering up a wide range of choices for your day. The most popular reception rooms are St Anne’s Hall and the Thomson Dining Hall. Both of these rooms have their own unique style but share stunning period features and a neutral colour palette – meaning it’s easy to incorporate your own wedding style into your celebrations.
Fine food and a place to stay for the night
During your wedding breakfast you’ll get to experience the finest delights. The venue’s menu choices are just mouthwatering! From scallop starters to a rack of Welsh border lamb and finished off with a dessert featuring all your favourites – chocolate, hazelnut, almond and salted caramel – you certainly won’t be disappointed!
The Abbey also comes with accommodation on site across 52 bedrooms within the Abbey and a further five bedrooms in Brides Manor. This stunning five bedroom Georgian Manor House sits elegantly in the grounds of the Abbey and provides supreme comfort and stylish accommodation for the two of you. You can also stay here the night before with your bridal party and can even extend your stay here for the whole weekend – perfect for fabulously indulgent celebrations!
Your dream wedding weekend
With exclusive use of the venue for a whole weekend you’ll have full use of the Abbey’s facilities. You’ll also have the option to add some unique activities to create your own bespoke wedding weekend. One of our favourite activities offered up by the venue has to be its cocktail making class. Here, you and your new husband, plus anyone else staying for the full weekend, will be able to learn the difference between a Cosmopolitan and a Kamikaze, taste the perfect Margarita and have a go at making a Blue Hawaii. We can guarantee that you’ll be mixing and shaking like a true professional by the end!
