Charlotte reveals why she loves Rivervale Barn in Hampshire

Set on the banks of the River Blackwater in Yateley, you’ll find the charming Rivervale Barn. Full of natural charm, warmth and elegance, it’s a simply wonderful spot in which to tie the knot – as our Wedding Venue Specialist, Charlotte, found out when she visited the venue…

1. It’s a real hidden gem

Tucked away in Hampshire, Rivervale Barn offers up a whole host of delights. Once I got through the door I was surprised to find how beautiful it was. Spacious, pretty views out onto the gorgeous gardens and lots of accessible areas – it was easy to see why a bride would fall in love with the venue.

2. Perfect for modern, classic weddings with a rustic touch

The barn is modern with classic and rustic touches and houses all your big-day celebrations. While your reception is held in the centre of the Barns, the stunning ceremony room sits in its own private area at one end and is flooded with light. I loved how the ceremony space overlooked the pretty garden, filled with beautiful old trees, colourful flowers and shrubs. It even has an attractive waterfall, which looks and sounds so tranquil.

Within the reception space you’ll find the dining room. It’s magnificent and filled with tremendous oak pillars, twinkling with fairy lights, which complement the striking chandeliers. The chic, white walls also give an ethereal feel to this beautiful room.

Although Rivervale is so modern, I loved how it still managed to retain the warmth of a barn wedding. There’s nothing pretentious about the setting. It’s just a lovely venue for a beautiful wedding day.

3. Guests will love to chill out in the Mediterranean Courtyard

Sat just outside the main Barn, you’ll find the welcoming Mediterranean Courtyard, perfect for mingling in with your guests. It’s adorned with seasonal lemon and orange citrus trees, present throughout the summer months, and a majestic copper wishing tree feature. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a tipple or two and for guests to chill out in and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of your special day.

Rivervale Barn offers glorious gardens for you and your wedding guests to enjoy. The landscaped gardens feature an array of beautiful colours that change with every season, along with pretty flowers and stunning trees.

The garden benches, tranquil lake and the backdrop of flowers in bloom are just some of the photo spots you may like to take advantage of.

5. The honeymoon suite is simply stunning

Rivervale Barn offers complimentary accommodation to the bride and groom in the beautiful Cornstore Cottage. The overnight stay also includes a continental breakfast the following morning. With its traditional barn style, cosy furnishings and luxurious bathroom, I would definitely want to spend longer than one evening there – it’s wonderful!

6. You’ll have exclusive use of the venue

One thing I loved about Rivervale Barn was its exclusive use policy, which means the venue is yours to enjoy for the whole of your wedding day. Brides and grooms will have exclusive use of everything from 12pm of the wedding day until 10am the following morning. This includes use of the Pamper Room, Cornstore Cottage, Barn and the gardens. The tables, chairs, linen, crockery and glassware are also included in the price – which is always an added bonus!
