An iconic designer, Vera Wang is considered the queen of bridal. We take a look at some of our favourite gowns…

1. Victoria Beckham

Let's start with the lovely VB and her fairytale wedding to David. Victoria's champagne-coloured strapless Vera Wang gown featured a 20-foot train and a bodice to die for. Vera herself has referred to it as the ‘Transatlantic dress’ as the bodice travelled across the pond to New York at least six times for fittings.

Clearly, it was worth it!

2. Emma - Real Life Bride

Of course designer dresses aren't all about celebrities, and one of the most beautiful brides we've seen was the lovely Emma who married her fiancé Mike at Gaynes Park in 2011. Her slinky Vera Wang gown featured a tulle halter neck and sash around the waist – the perfect detail to complement such an elegant style.

With oh-so-pretty Emmy shoes, a stunning head piece and a delicate train following her down the aisle, the look was simply breathtaking.

3. Alicia Keys

Looking every inch the Grecian goddess, Alicia rocked her one-shouldered, ivory silk Vera Wang dress. The design couldn't have been more perfect for her island-style wedding, and to accommodate a growing baby bump.

A crystal headpiece from Jacob & Co was the picture-perfect accessory.

4. Chelsie - Real Life Bride

Returning from Greek mythology to reality, we have the beautiful wedding of Chelsie and Danny at Gaynes Park. Chelsie wore a strapless Vera Wang empire line gown with a bias-cut banded bodice, net overlay and bow sash. An ivory flower hair accessory and delicate jewellery complemented the look.

As a final flourish, Chelsie chose stunning Alexander McQueen suede 6-inch peep-toe heels!

5. Ivanka Trump

Demonstrating the ultimate in elegance, Ivanka wed her beau Jared Kushner in an exquisite, bespoke Vera Wang gown. Inspired by the wedding gown of Grace Kelly, her classic dress featured three different tiers of hand-appliqued lace and sheer sleeves.

A work of art, and altogether rather majestic.

6. Khloé Kardashian

The Kardashian sisters certainly love Vera Wang, and who can blame them? Let’s start with Khloé who married Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom in 2008 wearing a fabulous figure-hugging strapless gown. She added her own personal touch with an elegant lavender sash, complementing the lavender gowns worn by her bridesmaids, and the prettiest bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and lily of the valley.

7. Kim Kardashian

Super-stylish Kim chose not one, but three Vera Wang dresses for her 2011 wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries… all stunning. She tied the knot in perhaps the most romantic of the three dresses, a ball gown with full tulle skirt and delicate lace appliqué on the bodice and train. For the first dance, Kim changed in to a mermaid- style gown, perfect for taking to the dancefloor.

Finally, the party dress was revealed – slinky and glamorous.

8. Hilary Duff

Perhaps one of our favourite style brides, Hilary Duff looked exquisite when she tied the knot with hockey star Mike Comrie. She wanted something deconstructed, not prim and proper, so Vera created an organza, mermaid-style super sleek and figure hugging with just a hint of fairytale princess in the mermaid tail that made a perfect swish as she walked down the aisle.

And another thing…

Chelsea Clinton and Avril Lavigne also wore stunning Vera Wang gowns. Of course, who can forget the 1993 marriage of Mariah Carey to Tommy Mottola? Her Vera Wang sweetheart wedding dress reportedly required six assistants to hold the 27-foot train!
