Winning Wedding Venues

Here at Country House Wedding Venues, we’re proud to once again be sponsoring The Wedding Industry Awards 2016, and last month saw the regional winners announced in a series of lavish events up and down the UK.

Entries for The Wedding Industry Awards 2016 opened in October 2015, covering 26 categories over seven regions. Categories covered all parts of the wedding planning process, from the caterers and cake makers to the videographers and venue stylists, and this year’s voting saw 24,500 votes from brides and grooms all around the country.

Here at Country House Wedding Venues, we’re proud to once again be sponsoring The Wedding Industry Awards 2016, and last month saw the regional winners announced in a series of lavish events up and down the UK.

We’re especially pleased to be able to announce that no less than SIX of our venues were announced Regional Winners of their categories, and a further venue was placed Highly Commended!

At the West Midlands event on 18th November, the fabulous Packington Moor won Wedding Venue of the Year (Countryside), beating out some stiff competition. Based in Staffordshire, Packington Moor has been a regional finalist in the past three Wedding Industry Awards, and won out as regional champion in 2012, so it’s no surprise to see it topping the votes once more. Set in 700 acres of picturesque farmland bordered by forest, this rustic barn venue prides itself on creating the perfect bespoke experience for hundreds of couples every year.

On the other side of the country, the East Midlands event on 17th November saw Dodmoor House crowned the winner of the Wedding Venue of the Year (Countryside) category. Another past winner, Dodmoor House became the overall National Winner of Wedding Venue of the Year category in 2013, so we can’t wait to see if it can take back the title at the National Event in January 2016. This Grade II listed venue has become popular with couples due its idyllic rural location, cottage-like charm and stylish honeymoon suite.

At the East of England event on the 16th November, South Farm came out on top in the Wedding Venue of the Year (Countryside) category – a real coup for a first-timer! “We feel amazing - it’s the first time we have ever entered something like this and everyone is really thrilled!” said Becky Duncan on the night of the Regional Event. “We can’t thank those who voted for us and the judging panel enough!” The team at South Farm prides itself on providing a ‘distinctly different’ wedding service, and their attention to detail and picture-perfect backdrop have clearly gone down well with brides in the East.

The London and South East Event was the biggest of all, taking up two days on 23rd and 24th November. The second day saw The Tythe Barn, Oxfordshire take Regional Winner of the Wedding Venue of the Year (Countryside) category, where it bested some of the nation’s most prestigious venues. Dating back to the 14th Century, The Tythe Barn boasts both impressive architecture and an incredible in-house team – including a catering partnership with Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts.

The South West Event rounded up a whirlwind month on the 25th November, and we were thrilled to see The Italian Villa win the Wedding Venue of the Year (Town or City) category. This exclusive Dorset venue is no stranger to accolades, having been awarded Most Popular Venue at the International Wedding Awards 2015 and Most Popular Wedding Venue in the World at the Wedding Industry Experts Awards earlier this year. This is definitely a truly luxurious venue, and we’re not surprised to see its grandeur going down so well with brides both in the UK and abroad.

As well as the Wedding Venue of the Year categories, we also had two successes in the Best Events Team categories.

For the second year running, Heaton House won Best Events Team in the North West Regional Event on 9th November. As the host of the Regional Event, it was a wonderful addition to the evening to see the Heaton House Farm team rewarded for their efforts. “Heaton House Farm was the perfect location to host the TWIA North West awards and we loved seeing everyone enjoy themselves after a wonderful year of weddings,” said Sarah Heath, the venue's Business Development Coordinator. “We too have enjoyed a fantastic season hosting a number of weddings, and to see our team be rewarded with the title of ‘Best Events Team’ is testament to their hard work and sheer determination to provide the best for our couples.”

The beautiful Rivervale Barn just missed out on the top spot, but were awarded Highly Commended in the Best Events Team category at the London and South East Event on the 24th November. This contemporary waterside venue in Hampshire has a highly experienced Events team from Galloping Gourmet, and they pride themselves on meeting couples’ every wedding need.
