A guide to creating an A list wedding | CHWV

Style your big-day like an A-list star by taking inspiration from some of our favourite celebrity weddings to date!

While celebrities may have an open-ended budget when it comes to planning their wedding, many of their big day ideas are easy enough to replicate. From the pure and simple colour palette of white, to live music entertainment, find out how you can host your very own celebrity-style wedding…

Trend #1 Two dresses, two looks

Kate Middleton is just one of many celebrities to have not one, but two dresses to wear on the big day. From her stunning, lace, long-sleeved gown to celebrate the day, to her chic, strapless number, for dancing the night away.

Trend #2 A sexy wedding dress

Celebs, such as Kim Kardashian, have taught us that you can look both sophisticated and sexy on your wedding day. More recently, Christine Bleakley has also adopted this look with a figure-hugging number. So why not channel your inner Jessica Rabbit with a fabulous fishtail design too?

Trend #3 All white weddings

Today’s celebs are ditching the rule that only the bride should wear white. Instead, they’re opting for an all-white bridal party with bridesmaids dressed in the same colour. Kim K opted for an all-white wedding party for her former wedding, as well as her more recent wedding to Kanye West, while Poppy Delevingne also opted for the same look.

Trend #4 Pretty in pink

Blush pink has been a popular wedding colour in recent years, and while there have been limited blush gowns available, it’s set to feature in many designer gowns for 2016. Some of our favourite brides who wore it well include Jessica Biel, Portia De Rossi and Beatrice Borromeo.

Trend #5 A floral arch

When it comes to creating a romantic setting, a pretty floral arch is key. Naturally beautiful, it’s been a huge trend in many of our favourite celebrity weddings – including Millie Mackintosh’s big day and Declan Donnelly’s recent wedding.

Trend #6 The classic touch

Despite an endless choice of options for styling a wedding, many celebrities are sticking to the classic look, with white wedding flowers and traditional floral centrepieces. Both Nicky Hilton and Michelle Keegan opted for beautiful white flower bouquets. Michelle also favoured stunning white centerpieces for her marquee that included a combination of hydrangeas, lisianthus, white roses, gypsophila and delphiniums.

Trend #8 An intimate affair

Smaller, more intimate affairs are becoming more and more popular with the modern day celebrity. In fact, many have even wed in secret – including New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester.

Trend #9 Personalised wedding favours

With unlimited budgets, celebs can go all out with extra special wedding favours. Lauren Conrad’s game night favour boxes are the perfect example of a celebrity style gift that you too can recreate at home. Gifted to each couple at the wedding, each game night box included sweetie snacks to accompany the game playing, a custom deck of cards and a custom designed notebook and pencil for keeping scores. The wooden boxes were then finished off with straw and personalised favour stickers.

Trend #10 Live and loud

It’s hard to name a celebrity that hasn’t had a live music act play at their party. The Royals opted for Ellie Goulding, Christine Bleakley and Frank Lampard danced along to Ed Sheeran, while Sia performed live at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s 2015 wedding. While you might not be able to hire a star, there are plenty of fab live music acts out there for your evening reception.
