Emma enjoyed a day planned to perfection, thanks to the wedding planning skills of fiancé Danny. Planning everything from the wedding venue to the date and the big-day transport, Emma was in for a day of surprises…
Danny surprised wife-to-be Emma by choosing and sorting the wedding venue all by himself. “He booked Mythe Barn before proposing to me and invited me to the wedding as part of the marriage proposal,” smiles Emma. Luckily, Emma loved the beautiful barn venue too and knew it would look particularly stunning for the pair’s Christmas wedding.
A festive party
With a huge party to plan for 20th December, Danny and Emma wanted to ensure a day full of fun and laughter. “All we wanted was for our guests to have the most amazing day,” says Emma. The décor was sorted, as the barn had already been dressed for Christmas, and all the couple decided to add were fairy lights and candles - for a warm and majestic atmosphere.
Emma looked the true princess in a beautiful Pronovias dress, which she teamed with navy blue shoes. Danny dressed to impress too, in a navy three-piece suit from Reiss. The modern and elegant colour scheme of blue ran throughout the attire and into the bridesmaid dresses, which were navy, floor length multi-way gowns – perfect for winter. “I even managed to find navy and white dresses for my two flower girls in a pretty ballerina style,” says Emma.
As with many elements of the wedding, Danny planned the wedding transport and arranged for Emma to travel to Mythe Barn in a Ferrari FF. “It was a real surprise,” smiles Emma. His daughter, Bethany, also came up with her own surprise for the day and read a special poem at the couple’s ceremony. “Even Danny didn’t know about her plans. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house,” says Emma.
A winter feast
Post-ceremony, the couple and their wedding guests tucked into an epic feast, ideal for the winter chill, starting with canapés. “We opted for mini versions of our favourites - such as mini burgers and fish and chips, amongst others,” explains Emma.
After the drinks reception it was time for a tasty wedding breakfast, enjoyed in the enchanting barn. The pair chose a pork spring roll starter, grilled rib eye steak main, with chunky sea salt chips, and a trio of puddings for dessert. “There was Eton mess, sticky toffee pudding and Baileys cheesecake,” says Emma.
In fact, foodie favourites were served right into the evening with a whole host of delicious options for all the party revellers. Guests were treated to a gourmet barbecue, freshly made popcorn, and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
When the guests weren’t tucking into the fab food on offer, they were up on the dance floor – celebrating the couple’s wedding and upcoming festivities. “A live band was a must for our wedding day,” says Emma. Creating the perfect party atmosphere, the couple’s wedding band played all their favourites - kicking off with the pair’s first dance song, It Must Be Love, by Madness. “The day was perfect, we have absolutely no regrets,” smiles Emma.
