Planning was key to creating Helen and Inayat's perfect wedding at Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire. With the date set for 20th November, the happy couple were looking for a cosy and inviting venue for their winter wedding and found exactly what they wanted in Dodmoor House.

A wintry proposal
After hearing how the couple became engaged, a winter wedding seemed like the perfect choice. "We had our first date in July, moved in together in October and by December we were engaged," smiles Helen. "We went to Scotland for a break over New Years. On the second day, we went for a lovely long walk through the forest to visit the Falls of Foyers. On the way back as the sun was setting, we headed back to a viewpoint of Loch Ness we had been to earlier in the day, where Inayat proposed. It was perfect and only the two of us."
Setting the scene
Helen and Inayat had decided upon a purple and white colour scheme for their big day and combined this with some wonderfully seasonal and rustic decorations that fitted their wedding date and venue perfectly. "We have an open fire at home and asked our wood supplier to cut us some wooden discs. They weren't all perfect sizes but this added to the rustic feel and they were a bargain!" explains Inayat. "We collected conkers from a local tree, bought candles from Ikea and added some pine cones which we bought from Ebay. The only ones we could find locally were very small! The menus and table plan were also handmade with a good printer, some coloured card and a lot of glue."

Dressed to impress
Helen had a rough idea in mind of the look she wanted on her wedding day and it only took a short time for her to find ‘the one'. "My dress was designed by Amanda Wyatt and I bought it from Bea's Bridal Boutique in Southam," says Helen. "The staff were amazing and it only took one appointment to try on several dresses and make my choice. I knew I wanted a slim fitted dress but it was only when I tried this one on that I knew it was perfect. It was exactly on budget too!"

The groomsmen worked within the colour scheme and opted for more relaxed, grey tweed suit combined with a purple patterned tie.

The bridesmaids looked fantastic too with dresses in a royal shade of purple.
A perfect day for the bride and groom
The happy couple's special day went off without a hitch! There were a couple of moments however that stand out for both husband and wife. "We both loved every second of it! But if I had to pick a favourite moment, it would be getting ready in the Dodford Room with my bridesmaids," smiles Helen. "We had music on, bucks fizz and pastries while we had our hair and make-up done. Everything was very relaxed and fun, despite the nerves and anticipation! If Inayat had to pick though, it would be driving the HMC Healey we hired for the day!"
