When it came to celebrating their wedding, Lauren and Chris didn’t want a small affair. Instead they were keen that everyone they loved attended their special day, and that together they could enjoy the perfect celebration…
Simply the best
Finding the right venue, with the right atmosphere, was important to Lauren and Chris. The couple knew they wanted to tie the knot at a barn venue, but were unsure which – until they visited Curradine Barns. “We knew it was perfect for us,” smiles Lauren. “It was a cosy, beautiful venue with such professional and knowledgeable staff. We knew we wouldn’t find anywhere better."

The minimalist touch
With a beautiful barn venue to dress, there was no question about wedding style when it came to their big-day theme. “The DIY, rustic, shabby chic look was perfect for the Barns – although the venue needed very little in terms of décor,” explains Lauren. Her father made the majority of the décor, while Lauren designed and created all of her wedding stationery.

Chic and stylish
In keeping with the pair’s rustic theme, Lauren also opted for a chic, countryside-inspired lace dress from Enzoani. “It was beautiful,” smiles Lauren. Her husband-to-be looked equally stylish in a blue three-piece suit, which complemented the day and the surroundings. “He didn’t scrub up too badly at all!” laughs Lauren. The rest of the bridal party, featuring four bridesmaids, one flower girl, and one pageboy, were dressed in shades of grey – the perfect choice to fit with the modern tones of the day.

A relaxed celebration
Lauren and Chris celebrated their wedding day at the end of October. Despite the season, the weather was kind and offered the perfect climate for their day. Lauren got ready for the ceremony at the venue, along with her bridal party – something that helped the whole day feel seamless. “I only needed to walk down the stairs to meet Chris at the aisle. There was no stress at all,” she smiles.

Gourmet food
The chilled-out day continued with an amazing feast of canapés and a three-course meal, lovingly prepared by the in-house catering team. “Fantastic food was one of our main priorities – and Curradine Barns certainly delivered,” says Lauren. The couple and their guests enjoyed a Scotch egg starter, beef main, and triple chocolate brownies for desert. “Every guest comments on how amazing the food was,” adds Lauren. “The whole day was perfect.”

Lauren’s top tip:
“Enjoy every minute and don’t get stressed. The day goes by so quickly – you’ll find yourself wanting to do it all over again!”
