Finding their wedding venue was perhaps one of the most exciting parts of the wedding planning process for Ana and Thomas. Keen to tie the knot somewhere new to all their family and friends, the couple set upon finding the perfect wedding venue in Norfolk.
Chic and unique
It wasn’t long before Ana and Thomas came across Manor Mews, one of the region’s most unique wedding venues. “We loved that it was a little different and that we’d never been to a wedding there before,” explains Ana. “The Barn and outside area were great too, as well as the wedding team,” she adds. The venue also boasted accommodation for up to 80 on-site across 10 properties – ideal for the pair’s family and friends who wanted to make a weekend of their celebrations.
The beautiful Barns, with their natural brick walls and neutral interior, were easy to dress for the couple’s wedding. With a choice of pretty much any colour scheme, the pair settled on pastel shades to create their very own vintage fete style theme. “We hung bunting from the ceiling and displayed pink roses and gypsophila in vintage jugs on our tables,” explains Ana. The couple also added a few quirky touches to their table design, including a floral straw in each drinking glass.
Looking the part
To tie in with the vintage theme, Ana opted for a fitted lace wedding gown while her two bridesmaids wore pastel pink. Thomas decided to add a quirky touch to his grey suit – pairing it with a floral bow tie and pocket square.
Ana and Thomas tied the knot in early May, with Ana arriving in true vintage style in a VW Campervan. “The VW even had a floral interior,” says Ana. “It was great and went perfectly with our theme,” she smiles. The sun came out especially for the pair’s wedding day too – much to Ana’s surprise. “I had hoped for sun and the weather was absolutely amazing,” she smiles.
Time to celebrate
With the sun out and glorious gardens to enjoy at Manor Mews, the pair and their wedding party went on to celebrate the couple’s marriage with a drinks reception outdoors. Guests indulged in scrumptious canapés and soaked up the glorious sun before heading inside for the wedding breakfast. Ana and Thomas treated guests to a chicken main and chocolate tart for dessert.
In the evening, yet more food was served – bacon rolls and chips wrapped in vintage newspaper to complement the wedding theme. “I just wanted everything to run smoothly and for everyone to have a great time – which they did,” smiles Ana. “I would not have changed a single thing about the wedding – it was an absolutely perfect day,” she adds.
