Luci and Rob’s big day requirements were modest and simple. All they wanted from their wedding was a whole lot of fun; a day their guests could enjoy and a setting perfect for relaxing in. Of course, finding the right venue was central in helping the couple create the right atmosphere for their day. Luckily, the pair found the relaxed vibe they were looking for at the picturesque Rivervale Barn.
Luci and Rob knew that Rivervale Barn was the perfect setting for their celebration - right from the moment they arrived. “We fell in love with the Barn right away,” smiles Luci. “Everything about it confirmed that it was the place in which we wanted to marry each other.” The barn setting was perfect for the couple’s rustic-inspired theme and the glorious garden ideal for a summer celebration.
As an event stylist, Luci knew exactly how she wanted to dress her day. With the help of her maid of honour - her business partner – Luci styled the venue with birdcages, candles and more, the perfect complement to the barn. Birdcages filled with flowers sat on wooden tree slices and took pride of place in the centre of guests’ tables. Candles, jam jars and ambient lanterns completed the look, adding an enchanting touch. For their guests, the couple set up baskets of flip flops and fans – for tired feet and cooling down on the hot summer’s day. They also placed toiletry baskets in the guest bathrooms, filled with essentials from plasters to perfumes.
Luci’s attire was influenced by all things gold and glamorous. Her Mori Lee gown featured a light gold layer with an ivory lace layer sat on top. She teamed her gown with a long Cathedral rose gold veil, complementing the chic tones of the day. Gold sequinned shoes finished off her look and added a quirky touch. The bridesmaids dressed in blush pink - the colour of the day - while Luci’s groom and man of honour wore blue suits teamed with pink accessories.
Planned to perfection
Luci and Rob tied the knot on a sweltering summer’s day in June. The day began with a sentimental ceremony in the Barn followed by canapés and reception drinks. A delicious wedding breakfast was served indoors and featured a lamb main and mixed berry crumble for dessert. “The Rivervale events team were fantastic from the start,” says Luci. “Their attention to detail was incredible,” she adds.
Great food was served into the night with barbeque favourites cooked on the fire pit. “My 95-year-old grandpa managed to eat two burgers after polishing off the wedding breakfast. It was hilarious because he’s so tiny!” laughs Luci. “The whole day ran perfectly – we wouldn’t have changed a thing,” she smiles.
