When it came to their wedding day, Emily and JK dreamed of a cosy, warm and welcoming setting; a place all their family and friends could come together and celebrate in. As the couple had set their heart on a winter wedding, they knew that much of their day would be spent indoors – and so a truly beautiful wedding venue was also important to the pair.
Perfect for the season
West Tower, in Lancashire, was just one of the many venues on Emily and JK’s shortlist - however, all their other wedding venues were quickly dismissed once the pair experienced West Tower for themselves. “We knew West Tower was the perfect venue for us the moment we set foot into the door,” smiles Emily. “It was pristine, picturesque and immaculately maintained – but best of all, the staff were incredibly helpful,” she adds. The venue also offered plenty of accommodation on-site – meaning friends and family could stay the night and really make the most of Emily and JK’s wedding day.
Cosy and chic
West Tower had just about everything the pair wanted for their winter woodland-inspired wedding day. It had that sense of warmth and homeliness the couple were after, with its roaring open fires, and a chic, elegant interior. “The house looked stunning on the day,” says Emily. ‘Our florist, Flowerstyle by Laurie, helped to create a beautiful woodland theme while our stationery, from Stop The Clock Design, offered the perfect finishing touch.”
In keeping with the rustic, woodland theme, Emily opted for a gorgeous full-length lace gown, designed by Watters Brides. Her bridesmaids wore lace too and complemented the colour palette of the day in pretty blush pink. Keen to dress to impress, JK choose a bespoke suit, designed especially for the day by Whitfield and Ward.
A stylish ceremony
After months of planning, Emily and JK’s big day finally came together on the 6th February. Emily arrived at the venue in a quirky Mini while JK and his groomsmen made their own way. “The beautiful ceremony space certainly was a standout moment of the day,” says Emily. “I couldn’t believe how beautiful the aisle looked thanks to Laurie, our florist, and the wedding stylist,” she smiles.
A winning team
The ceremony was just the start of the couple’s perfect wedding day. Thanks to the team at West Tower, the rest of the day ran like clockwork too – ensuring each moment was memorable in every way. “Sue and her team were incredibly helpful and martialled the best man, groomsmen and ushers like pros,” says JK. “They made sure that absolutely everything went off without a hitch,” he adds. “The team even made sure that Emily and I got 10 minutes alone, after the ceremony, to enjoy a glass of fizz in front of the fire and catch our breath.”
The best day ever
The couple’s wedding reception was all about good food, good fun, and a lot of laughter. The celebrations began with a warming three-course wedding breakfast, which included a starter of Lancashire cheese and red onion tart, a chicken roast main, and apple crumble for dessert. “It was all delicious,” smiles Emily. Cosy catch-ups with family and friends followed before the real party began on the dance floor. With a live band performing sets all night long, the couple knew their party would be good – but the performers even outdid their expectations. “They were fantastic. We wouldn’t have changed a thing – it was a perfect day,” says Emily. “Everyone worked with one goal in mind, to make Emily and I feel special and look after our guests like no other venue could,” adds JK.
