Claudia and Mark wanted nothing more than a relaxed, laid-back wedding where they could enjoy special moments with family and friends. A picturesque venue was high on their list of priorities too – it had to look gorgeous in all their wedding photos!
An intimate affair
The pair drew up a shortlist of wedding venues, Bartholomew Barn in West Sussex being the first they looked at. Despite having looked at other venues afterwards, they kept coming back to Bartholomew Barn. “It was perfect,” smiles Claudia. “It was just the right size for our intimate wedding party and offered lots of privacy too,” she adds. “The grounds were beautiful as well and ideal for all our wedding photos.”
With a gorgeous countryside barn to dress, deciding on a wedding theme was easy. The couple added chic and rustic details to the wedding barn - including lots of gypsophila, hessian and shades of blush. Their unique touches enhanced the brick and beamed barn and added a summer touch to the neutral surroundings.
Styled to perfection
To complement the rustic theme of the day, Claudia wore a vintage style dress. “It was amazing,” she smiles. Her lace Ritva Westenius gown ensured she looked every part the classic bride while her beautiful make-up added the finishing touch. In keeping with modern trends, Mark wore a navy blue suit. He teamed his suit with a classic ivory tie while his groomsmen accessorised with blush rose, matching the colour scheme of the day.
Mr & Mrs
Claudia and Mark tied the knot on a June summer’s day beginning with a heart-warming ceremony at the Barn. In fact, Claudia was so excited about getting married she almost ran down the aisle – her father having to hold her back to slow her down. “Everyone found it very funny,” she laughs. “I’m just hoping it gets slowed down for our video.”
With the ceremony over, all that was left was for the newlyweds and their wedding guests to enjoy the day. The official photographs followed along with a drinks reception and canapés, all before the wedding breakfast was served. Claudia and Mark decided on a relaxed BBQ as their main affair to fit in with their laid back wedding.
Live and loud
Come evening, yet more food was served – much to their guests’ delight. There were bacon sandwiches, chips and in Claudia’s words “lots of lovely cheese”. Alongside comfort food, the pair also offered entertainment with their live band, The MP3s. “They were fantastic,” smiles Claudia. “They started the evening with our first dance song, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran,” she adds. “It was a perfect day and we didn’t want it to end. We both wish we could do it all over again.”
