It wasn’t just the style and look of a wedding venue that was important to Jenny and Andy. The pair also wanted the help and support of a fantastic wedding team – in the run up to their celebrations and on the big day.
The ultimate venue
Luckily, Jenny and Andy found the complete package at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. The beautiful venue, fantastic facilities and helpful wedding team meant it ticked all the boxes. Even better, the menus were pretty impressive too. “The Manor was simply stunning,” smiles Jenny. “From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with it.”
A rustic touch
One of the best things about the Manor was its versatility. The couple had the choice of a variety of spaces to celebrate in – from the picturesque gardens to the old, charming manor house and a classically styled ballroom. Jenny and Andy decided to accentuate the Manor’s beauty with a few rustic touches, complimentary to all the venue’s unique spaces. “We combined rustic touches with herb-inspired theme – because Andy is a chef – and kept the styling chic and simple,” explains Jenny.
The glam venue also meant Jenny had the perfect excuse to go big and bold with her wedding dress. Her traditional white gown featured layers upon layers of tulle at the bottom and was teamed with a long veil. Andy opted for traditional attire too. He wore a three-piece suit but ditched the regular waistcoat in favour of a rustic-inspired tweed one. In keeping with the wedding theme, Jenny’s three bridesmaids also dressed with rustic colours and trends in mind in mink dresses.
A foodie feast
On their late May wedding day, Jenny and Andy arrived at Manor by the Lake in a stylish Aston Martin. The pair were particularly looking forward to tucking into good food – which, for once, was not being cooked by Andy. The foodie feast began with party snacks, like popcorn and vegetable crisps, served at the drinks reception, and was followed by a two-course wedding breakfast. For the main, guests indulged in a succulent duck course and a chocolate brownie dessert to follow. “The wedding breakfast was a real highlight – it certainly stood out,” says Jenny. “The staff even helped us play a trick on our best man by hiding his speech,” laughs Jenny. “It was brilliant!”
A perfect day
Of course, good food continued to be a theme of the night with yet more scrumptious delights served up come evening. The pair opted for a hog roast, sweet cart and Krispy Kremes – guaranteed to satisfy any peckish guests. While there was plenty to indulge in, the dance floor remained packed all night as guests celebrated in style. “The venue was perfect, as was the entire day – it went without a hitch,” smiles Jenny.
