When it came to their wedding day, Lynn and Mark didn’t have any big demands. Instead, they wanted to enjoy a simple yet memorable day that ran as perfectly as they had planned. A smooth running reception was one of their wedding ‘must-haves’ alongside lots of fabulous food and drink.
Ours for the day
With a modest list of requirements, finding the right venue wasn’t too much of a task for Lynn and Mark. They knew they wanted a barn wedding venue, which helped them to create a shortlist, and were keen to get married close to home. Bassmead Manor Barns, in Cambridgeshire, was not only conveniently located close by to the couple, it was also nestled away in the picturesque countryside. This offered up fantastic opportunities when it came to their big day photographs and also ensured exclusivity and privacy.
In keeping with the summer season, Lynn and Mark styled their day with a pop of yellow. Lynn carried a beautiful yellow teardrop bouquet while citrus coloured flowers adorned the tables. Citrus-inspired drinks were served too, to complement the happy theme. While bright and bold, the couple’s wedding was classic in style too. They opted for simple, elegant candelabra décor for their table centrepieces and a chic all-white wedding cake.
A touch of vintage
Every element of Lynn and Mark’s wedding was chosen to reflect their personalities – including their outfits. Rather than opting for a traditional wedding gown, Lynn chose something vintage in style. Her unique beaded wedding dress was teamed with a pretty, high neck cape and flapper-inspired beaded headband. Mark, on the other hand, opted for something more traditional. His three piece navy blue suit included a long jacket and a yellow buttonhole and tie.
Lynn and Mark enjoyed a church wedding before making their way to Bassmead Manor Barns for their reception. To transport them to their wedding venue, the couple hired a classic car – which proved to be a fantastic prop for their photos. The little guests got to enjoy the vintage vehicles too as they enjoyed their own private ride around the Barn’s courtyard.
Light up the night
The reception began with canapés and a drinks reception followed by a delicious buffet. In the evening, yet more delicious snacks were served, this time, chicken wraps. It was during the evening that the party really came to life with fun-filled activities for all. The chocolate fountain was one attraction of the night exciting guests young and old. Later on, there was a sparkler send-off too with guests lighting up the Bassmead Manor Barn courtyard.
