From classic red rose creations to quirky winter wreaths, we showcase the best in winter wedding flowers.
A winter wedding is undeniably romantic. There’s the cosy venue, picturesque landscape for your wedding photos and, of course, a great excuse to cuddle up. Winter wedding flowers are pretty special too. Although some flowers may be limited during the Christmas season, there are plenty of blooms that look their best in winter. Plus, the opportunities for styling your winter wedding flowers are endless…

Festive red
The red rose is a classic choice for your winter wedding. Opt for a full bouquet of roses for a simple yet bold look or combine with ivory blooms and berries for a look that’s more contemporary. Of course, it’s not just roses that are available in festive red; anemones, cala lilies and amaryllis are great options too. And for something more boho in style, why not combine rich red flowers with other warm tones like orange and purple?

You could also keep the design of your bouquet nice and natural, combining festive red with greenery and foliage. This combination works particularly well in your Christmas-inspired décor too and is ideal for a rustic barn wedding.

Christmas chic
If the simplistic and chic colour of white is more your style, we’ve got plenty of ideas for your Christmas wedding flowers. Roses, again, are a great choice as are classics like orchids, tulips and anemones. For a chic manor house wedding, you may like to stick to formal blooms, like tulips or roses. Boho or rustic-inspired brides, however, should mix a range of classic white blooms for subtle colour and texture.

White flowers are great for decking out your reception space too. Effortlessly stylish and chic, they can transform just about any space. For a showstopper, opt for one tall and full floral centrepiece, complemented with glassware and silver cutlery.

If you’re looking for something a little more feminine and soft in style, why not combine white blooms with pretty blush colours? Creams, ivories, neutral shades and blush tones can come together to create a vintage-style bouquet. You can also soften up your bouquet and flowers with a few delicate accents, combining fuller blooms with baby’s breath or cascading sage leaves.

Winter berries
One of the best ways to add a festive touch to your flowers is to enhance your bouquet with berries. Red berries add a warm and homely touch while gold-sprayed berries or white snowberries add a chic and enchanting touch. Don’t forget to extend the use of berries out to the rest of your décor too. Wedding cakes embellished with berries and a sprig of mistletoe both work.

Seasonal creations
The winter season is a great time to embrace au naturale creations too. Think greenery bouquets and the addition of feathers and / or pinecones to your flowers and buttonholes. Winter greenery is so versatile too. Wrap ivy leaves around barn beams for an enchanted forest touch; use leafy foliage as a table runner, and a natural touch to place settings and stationery with a sprig of rosemary.

Wedding wreath
A Christmas wedding wouldn’t be complete without a festive wreath. You needn’t go all out with festive colour either – a simple greenery wreath works too. If you’re embracing the boho or rustic look, you may want to wear your wreath upon your head. Another great idea is the wreath prop, which can be accessorised with a banner featuring your choice of words.
