If you’d like to wear an alternative to white or ivory on your special day, but you don’t want to be too adventurous with colour, consider choosing a delicate blush shade.

Every guest loves to see a bride daring to be different on her wedding day. Champagne, mocha and other hints of blue, grey and pink can be fun, flattering and easy to co-ordinate with the rest of your day. This season, we love blush – a soft shade of pink that is suited to most skin tones. Let’s take a look at some of our favourite dresses.

For a real ‘wow’ dress we adore ‘Jewel’ from talented designed Galia Lahav. A blush tone with hand embroidery over French lace, it’s a dress that needs an equally dramatic, exceptional wedding.

In a softer shade, the ‘Tamsin’ gown by Catherine Deane is elegant and romantic.

Just the thing for an outdoor wedding, a pale shade of blush is at one with nature and suits the countryside. Sparkly jewellery wouldn’t work well here - the natural look needs an equally simple hair style and minimal accessories, letting the dress speak for itself.

‘Cordelia’ by Jenny Packham is something of a showstopper and looks stunning with auburn hair. If you’re choosing a gown with colour and embellishments, keep the rest of your accessories simple.

Sequins add glamour to the ‘Loretta’ dress by Eliza Jane Howell, showing how well this shade works for an evening celebration. Pastels can be glamorous as well as demure!

White is an obvious accompaniment to blush, especially for a summer wedding. Complete the look with a soft white bouquet.

As for the details, a combination of blush tones and white make an exceptionally beautiful bouquet.

Of course, you can also add your chosen hue to your cake design.

And finally, don’t forget to co-ordinate your drinks! Perhaps a pitcher of punch with strawberries?
