What's your wedding dress made from? Satin? Silk? Toilet Paper?
You might be familiar with the traditional hen party game of creating dubious wedding dresses out of bog roll but the world famous Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest presented by Cheap Chic Weddings takes things to a whole new level.
Entrants have eight weeks to create their TP masterpieces and with a $10,000 prize for the winner, the competition is fierce.
There are strict rules to follow though before you can make a splash in the word of toilet paper wedding dresses:
- Charmin toilet paper is the only material permitted as it is the sponsor of the competition.
- Contestants may use any tape or glue to keep their creation intact.
- A needle and thread can also be used when fashioning the TP work of art.
- The dress must be able to be worn by a human and be able to be put on and taken off.
Ten contestants reached the final with their exquisite, quilted designs, but it was freelance designer and Etsy shop purveyor Van Tran who had the most in her arsenal. The stunning creation will now also be featured in the Ripley's Believe it or Not! museum in London.
