Don't worry, we haven't lost the plot! We know that on average most people give themselves a good 12-18 months for all their wedding planning, but today we're going to look a few reasons that might just convince you to shorten the gap between the time you say ‘yes' and when you say ‘I do'!
1. Because there are great venues out there with amazing dates
You might think that all the best venues will be fully booked up years in advance, and while that might be the case with a few standout dates, you will likely find that even the most popular settings have a number of free slots throughout the year which could be yours. If you're a bit flexible with your dates and have picked out a selection of venues that meet your requirements, then you could be hosting your perfect wedding day sooner than you think!

2. Because you can make a huge saving
Wedding venues are just like other businesses in some ways, so it stands to reason that if they still have dates remaining they'll reduce the price to make sure they go. You can use this to your advantage and, if you're willing to take a bit of a chance and wait longer before you book, you could make a great saving on the cost of your wedding day. Not all venues will do this, so it's not guaranteed that the one you have your eye on will cut their prices, but keep checking and it might pay off!
3. Because you really don't need years of planning
We admit it's nice to be able to spread the wedding planning out so that it doesn't take over your life, but if you're ready for a bit of hard work and decisive action then there's no reason you can't get your whole day arranged in a few months. All it takes is a bit of organisation and dedication and you'll be well on your way to an amazing wedding!
4. Because it's too hard to wait
You know that feeling as a child before Christmas or your where time just seems to stand still? Well, that's how it can feel when waiting for your special day to arrive too! If you've got a year or two before you tie the knot, just think how long that's going to feel like. Book your wedding date in 2017 and you've only got a maximum of seven months to wait, which is still plenty of time to plan and seems a lot more bearable!

5. Because it doesn't just have to be in summer
We come across this quite a lot and it's time for it to change! Often people have always pictured a summer wedding so automatically rule out the other seasons, but a lot of wedding venues are just as beautiful (if not more) in spring, autumn or winter and provide plenty of incentives for you to book then. More choice of dates, off-peak prices and stunning seasonal scenery could all make your wedding day even better!

6. Because you can
It has become the norm to allow 18 months, two years, maybe even longer from the time you get engaged until you exchange your vows, and it is often met with surprise or disapproval if you don't stick to the trends. Well, we think it's about time that things changed! Everybody's different and it's YOUR wedding day, so if you want to tie the knot in a few months' time then do it! You don't have to wait longer just because other people do, so break the ‘rules' and do things your own way. People might change their mind about it when they see how amazing your wedding day is!
