Lubica and Gavin’s wedding wishes included a top photographer to capture precious memories and a fantastic wedding team to minimise all that big day stress. They were also partial to getting married in a castle – after all, their wedding was going to be the most special day of their lives.
King and Queen for the day
With Clearwell Castle located near the couple’s home, they knew they had to visit and find out about getting married there. Of course, they fell in love with the Castle straight away – mesmerised by its beauty and won over by the expert wedding team. “It is simply the most beautiful setting for a wedding,” smiles Lubica. “It’s stylish, sophisticated and has gorgeous surroundings,” she adds. “The wedding team are great too. They were experienced, professional and could cater for all our needs.”
A touch of autumn
Lubica and Gavin set the date for Thursday 6th October. In terms of décor, they wanted to create an autumnal feel while still featuring their favourite colours. “We decided on a colour palette of white and turquoise and chose floral bouquets and table decorations to offset these colours,” explains Lubica. In fact, the pair needed to add little décor of their own as candles with vases came as a standard with a wedding at Clearwell Castle.
Fit for a princess
Having planned a Castle wedding, it was only right that Lubica looked every part the princess. Her A-line gown featured a delicate belt and gorgeous off-the-shoulder lace overlay. “It was stunning and fit the theme of our wedding perfectly,” smiles Lubica. Gavin dressed to impress too in a three-piece steel blue suit teamed with a white tie and shirt.
English castle stay
Lubica and Gavin arrived at Clearwell Castle the night before their wedding. “It was a real bonus being able to stay on-site the night before. It reduced our stress levels significantly,” says Lubica. The pair stayed true to traditional and spent the night apart, sleeping in two separate cottages at the premises, before meeting each other in the Castle the following day. “For me, seeing Lubi walk down the aisle was the best moment of the day. She looked so beautiful in her dress,” smiles Gavin. “I have to admit, I was extremely emotional while getting ready and walking down the aisle,” adds Lubica.
A regal feast
The new Mr and Mrs Ford celebrated with a drinks reception outside before heading into the Castle for an epic feast. The couple’s delicious wedding breakfast included a duck starter, beef wellington main and chocolate fudge brownie for dessert with additional options for vegetarians and vegans.
The food didn't stop at the wedding breakfast; into the night, yet more comfort food was served as part of a hot buffet. “It was so delicious and topped up regularly throughout the night,” says Lubica. “ Our wedding at Clearwell Castle was perfect. Gavin and I have no regrets; we just wish we’d opted for a more extensive package with our amazing photographer to capture the whole of our wonderful day.”
