We do love a good wedding show here at CHWV so imagine our joy when we got the chance to head to the Olympia in London and attend the Luxury Wedding Fair AND the National Wedding Show all in one go! The two events were held between Friday 22nd Sept and Sunday 24th September 2017 and were a great opportunity for brides and grooms to find plenty of inspiration for their big day.
We started with the Luxury Wedding Fair which featured plenty of premium wedding experts and suppliers on hand to aid brides-to-be with their wedding planning.
We managed to catch up with Andri from Always Andri, one of our favourite stylists and wedding planners. Her display combined two popular trends, greenery and geometric, beautifully and she also used frames and gold string to encase large green ferns. Definitely a look that you’ll want to see! You can see an example of Andri’s beautiful work at Morden Hall.
We also had the pleasure of chatting to the incredible bridal designer, Sassi Holford, who was just as elegant and chic as her designs! She combines unique fabrics with the use of draping, pleats and cut outs to elevate her wedding gown designs and you can take a look at her unique style here.
Bluebell Kitchen were there displaying awe-inspiring wedding cakes and chatting to brides about their flavours. Gaya’s Cakes also got our taste buds tingling at the Luxury Wedding Fair. They not only had wedding cakes adorned with fresh flowers but also incredible petit fours and mini choux buns on display for those who wanted edible favours.
Emmy London had shoes and accessories covered! Their beautiful display housed glamourous shoes and clutches to match. The brand is well known for their stunning art deco styles, available in high heels, lower heel heights and flats, there really is something for everyone.
Harrod’s Urban Retreat Team were also providing mini makeovers using beauty products By Terry and Kerastase to those with VIP tickets. Their expert team can provide detailed consultations in store to help you choose haircare, skincare and makeup products for your wedding day. They also have an on-site spa inside of Harrods, perfect for a pre-wedding pamper!
Melodie from the team worked her bridal makeup magic on Kathryn, our Social Media Executive, opting for a cream eyeshadow with a purple undertone to compliment the green in her eyes. A pink shade of lipstick was applied to pull the look together. Melodie recommends brides stick with the same skincare products in the lead up to the wedding to avoid allergic reactions or blemishes. An SPF is also advised to prevent sunburn and pigmentation.
The tickets also included entry to the National Wedding Fair which was on the lower floor. Supplier highlights included Ben Sherman’s new hire service, Shropshire Petals who create all natural flower confetti and decadent five-tier wedding cakes from Ann’s Designer Cakes.
There was also a bridal catwalk which showed designs from all the bridal designers who were present. It was amazing to see the latest trends and styles to suit every taste!
Our day out at Olympia London for the Luxury Wedding Fair and National Wedding Show filled us with plenty of inspiration and we can’t wait to share it with you on the blog!
