Roses, beads and lace all go into making this DIY wedding cake look absolutely beautiful.

We hope you loved watching our DIY Wedding Cakes For Under £100 video but in case you missed it, just click here and go and take a look! It's full of ideas to help you create the perfect DIY wedding cake in whatever style suits you, without blowing that all-important wedding budget either.

The idea of creating your own wedding cake sounds like a daunting one, but it doesn't have to be! Firstly, if you're picturing spending hours in the kitchen the day before your wedding whipping up a cake then forget it! There's a much easier way for those of you who don't fancy channelling your inner-Mary Berry.

Jenny, one of our amazing wedding venue specialists, volunteered to decorate and we're so glad she did! To create her elegant and classic look, Jenny got creative and took a trip to a craft shop after picking up some wonderful pink roses and gypsophila from a local supermarket.

To give her design extra height, Jenny bought some polystyrene wreaths which she would later place under and between the tiers. She created holes all the way around the polystyrene and, after trimming down the stems of her flowers, pushed them through to create a wonderful, 360° floral decoration. She then tied white lace around each tier and added some delicate beads which hung beautifully between the tiers, topped the cake with a couple more soft-pink roses, and sat the whole thing on a white porcelain cake stand to continue the traditional and pretty style.

I think you'll agree that this cake looks amazing, but it must have cost way more than £100 to create this work of art, right? Wrong! After spending £11 in Hobbycraft on bits and bobs and another £12 on the beautiful flowers from Aldi, Jenny's cake only cost a total of £77! The ceramic cake stand was brought from home, but you would be able to pick a similar up for around £15, which still only bumps the total price up to £92.
