Natalie and Tony were searching for a warm and cosy barn venue with an inviting atmosphere that could cater for all their needs on their wedding day. They found just what they were looking for with Rivervale Barn, a breathtaking wedding venue in Hampshire that ticked all the boxes.
"As soon as we walked in on the Open Evening we fell in love with the Rivervale Barn instantly," says Natalie. "The way in which the venue flows from the ceremony room to the reception area and then the dining barn was beautiful. The courtyard and the gardens were amazing too. The whole venue immediately seemed perfect for every aspect of our wedding day, and we actually pre-booked a date the first time we visited."
Styling the venue
The happy couple had decided on a vintage country theme for their special day and went about enlisting their family to help them set the scene.
"We had bunting that was made by the mother of the groom that matched the peach colour scheme of the wedding which we put up all around the barn and even outside in the courtyard," explains Natalie. My Grandad made some brilliant woodwork decorations including signs, crates, a ladder and even a sweet cart! We had lots of peach and ivory flowers, and my Auntie made a vintage suitcase for the wedding cards to go in too. It all looked fantastic!"
Dressing to impress
Natalie looked incredible on the day and wore a stunning ivory off-the-shoulder dress by Pronovias that featured intricate lace detail and a court-length train.
"I got my dress from Anya Bridal Couture in Droxford. They were ever so helpful from start to finish and I would highly recommend them."
The beautiful bride matched her dress with peach and ivory flower crown to fit with the country feel to the wedding day, simple pearl jewellery and delicate ivory shoes.
Tony looked the part too and picked a light-grey three-piece suit to wear on the day. He paired it with a peach tie and pocket square, which tied in with the colour scheme perfectly. The bridesmaids continued the peach theme too, with long chiffon dresses and flowers in their hair.
The order of the day
The happy couple tied the knot beneath the exposed wooden beams of the spectacular Ceremony Room while their friends and family looked on. They celebrated their newlywed status with a drinks reception in the courtyard thanks to the warm autumnal weather. A string quartet provided a wonderful soundtrack to their day, and continued to play when everybody headed into the Dining Barn for an unforgettable wedding breakfast. The expert in-house caterers, Galloping Gourmet, provided a feast made up of a smoked bacon Scotch egg, fillet of beef and a beautifully-decorated vanilla cheesecake for dessert. A live band kept spirits high and the dance floor full in the evening, before Natalie and Tony ended their special day with a stay in the luxurious Cornstore Cottage.
The perfect celebration
The newlyweds had the most amazing time celebrating their wedding day, but there were a couple of moments which stood out over the others.
"For me, it was turning up to Rivervale Barn with my Dad and seeing the venue for the first time on the wedding day," says Natalie. "You spend so much time dreaming of what the venue is going to look like on the day but I was blown away by how beautiful it looked."
"Seeing my beautiful bride walk down the aisle of course!" says Tony. "And walking out into the courtyard to be surrounded by family and friends and to share in the happy moment." If the happy couple could pass on any words of advice it would be this:
"Relax and don't worry about anything that could go wrong, the day will be wonderful no matter what because of the loved ones you have chosen to be there to share it with you. Remember, it is your day so make sure you enjoy the planning and build up to it as it goes very fast!"
