Yasmine and Richard were looking for an informal and relaxed setting for their special day and, having experienced a Galloping Gourmet-planned wedding before, they knew that Curradine Barns would be the perfect place to tie the knot.
"Curradine Barns was simple yet elegant and met all our big day needs," explains Yasmine. "We were particularly excited about the menu too, having sampled the exquisite food from Galloping Gourmet at my sister's wedding."
The Perfect Style
One aspect that the couple particularly loved about this beautiful barn wedding venue in Worcestershire was the pretty yet understated look of the place, meaning they could use it as a blank canvas on which to add their chosen theme. They opted for a stunning fusion of art deco and Arabian decorations to make their day truly unique.
"We used a colour scheme of a mix of jewel tones, including burgundy, navy, turquoise and gold," says Yasmine. "We had gold sequined table runners and Moroccan lanterns filled with flowers as our centrepieces. We also made a lot of things ourselves such as white feathers dipped in gold glitter to decorate the tables and handmade drinks coasters for each of the guests as wedding favours."
"For our table plan, we spray painted some MDF in copper and stuck a world map on it. We then pinned gold thread to places we had been together, and those countries were the names of our tables. We both really liked the idea of marquee lights for the ceremony and dance floor, however they were so expensive, we decided to make them ourselves. Richard cut out Art Deco style letters, spray painted them copper and popped in festoon light bulbs we purchased online. It looked amazing and added a unique touch to the wedding."
Dressed To Impress
When it came to what to wear on her big day, Yasmine had her heart set on a glamorous look with hints of their chosen Arabian theme. She found the perfect dress in a full ball gown with a corseted top and sweetheart neckline, and customised her look with an embellished crystal belt and coloured gem encrusted shoes. It's safe to say that she looked incredible on the happy couple's special day, as did Richard in a black Ted Baker tuxedo paired with a burgundy pocket square and bow tie. Yasmine's bridesmaids looked amazing in jewel tone dresses that matched the colour scheme perfectly!
A Magical Day At Curradine Barns
Yasmine and Richard spent their whole day at this delightful wedding venue in Worcestershire, tying the knot in the breathtaking Granary Barn, sipping Bellinis in the picturesque courtyard, and enjoying a mouth-watering feast in the Barley Barn, created by expert wedding caterers, Galloping Gourmet.
When it came to entertaining their guests, the couple had prioritised a live band to make sure the dance floor was full all night. Being a keen musician himself, Richard joined the band on numerous occasions and even performed a song written especially for the day, which went down particularly well with Yasmine.
The day was full of unforgettable moments for the newlyweds, but it's perhaps the comedy moments that stand out the most for Yasmine.
"During the ceremony, my eight-month-old nephew decided to get vocal," remembers Yasmine. "When the registrar asked if there was any reason why we should not be wed, he decided to laugh."
"My dad also decided to do his best to embarrass me during his speech and showed all our guests a blown up picture of my face. The photo was of me with puffy eyes and a red face as I'd just had an allergic reaction, so it wasn't the most flattering picture to share on one of the biggest days of my life!"
Despite the slight humiliation at the hands of Yasmine's father, the couple had the most amazing wedding day at Curradine Barns and wouldn't have changed a thing!
