3. Appleby Castle, Cumbria
On the hunt for intimate wedding venues with history? You’ll love the Lake District’s Appleby Castle, which dates back to the 12th century. Marry in the oak-panelled Ceremony Room or outdoors in the picturesque Garden Rotunda, before enjoying a drinks reception with a difference in the atmospheric courtyard.
