At Country House Wedding Venues, our Venue Specialists are always busy keeping up-to-date with wedding trends and getting to know the amazing venues that we work with. So we thought, who better to talk to for inspiration on how to style Morden Hall? See how Megan would celebrate her special day at this magical country house in London.

Let’s start off with why Megan loves this London wedding venue.
“For me, Morden Hall is perfect. The historic house holds a contemporary décor so it combines the best of both worlds and the gardens and National Trust parkland around it create a wonderful feeling of privacy. I’d personally choose a June wedding date so the all the trees and flowers would be in full bloom.”

One of the best features of Morden Hall is its clean, neutral décor and Megan thinks this would work perfectly with a crisp white colour scheme.
“As the song says, ‘It’s a nice day for a white wedding’ and I would use that throughout each aspect of the day. All white dresses, flowers and a cake would be complemented by accents of green and grey for a fresh and modern feel to the day. Plus, it would reflect the beautiful grounds and white exterior of the building and bring it all together.”

For a truly romantic look, Megan would choose a long and flowing textured dress. Ideal for matching the elegance and style of Morden Hall. The groomsmen would continue the light colour scheme with grey suits while her bridesmaids would follow her lead and be dressed in white too.
“People often say that people other than the bride wearing white at a wedding is a bit of a faux pas, but the result of my bridesmaids wearing it would be too good for me to mind!”

The Food and Drink
With Galloping Gourmet providing the in-house catering, you know that you’re in for something special when it comes to your wedding food and drink at Morden Hall.
Megan would choose sangria flora for her drinks reception, which would be the perfect refreshing tipple on a sunny day. The drinks would be flowing all through the day too, with Galloping Gourmet’s gin bar, beer drums and Prosecco keeping the spirits high. The Mulberry Suite would provide an amazing setting for the wedding breakfast and reception, and Megan would opt for banqueting style tables adorned with white linen, decorative foliage and plenty of candles.

Weddings are all about creating lots of happy memories and to make sure the fun lasted long into the evening, Megan would find an indie band to keep the dance floor full. A photo booth would also give guests a funny memento of the wedding day to take home with them.
