Planning their August celebration and looking for the perfect wedding venue in Essex, Amber and Alex knew they wanted to visit Braxted Park.
“Amber had attended a wedding there when she was younger and she could remember it being an amazing venue,” explains Alex.
This happy couple also loved the idea of getting married outside and soon decided that Braxted Park was the one.
“The grounds were beautiful with an equally beautiful orangery if the weather took a turn for the worse,” says Alex. “It seemed like an obvious choice for us, only 20 minutes from home with plenty of rooms for our family and a cute cottage for us.”
Design and Décor
Choosing an elegant colour scheme of pastel pink and cream with navy, Amber and Alex began to collect images of things they loved from Pinterest.
“We wanted our guests to be relaxed,” explains Amber. “After the ceremony, we wanted the drinks to flow and the party atmosphere to kick in... for everyone to enjoy a big party together and celebrate our day.”
And the Bride Wore…
Amber chose a stunning gown called ‘Seraphina’, by David Tutera for Mon Cheri.
“I loved how it came in a pink undertone which suited my skin colour,” she smiles. “It was the shape I’d had in mind with a bit of sparkle and some lace.”
The beautiful bride accessorised with rose gold sparkly shoes by Jimmy Choo along with rose gold jewellery.
Meanwhile, Alex looked the part in a navy three-piece suit from Anthony Formal Wear, with tan brogues. He also wore a watch that had belonged to Amber’s grandfather.
Continuing the bridal style, Amber’s four adult bridesmaids wore silver gowns by Kelsey Rose with platform heels and flowers in their hair. And finally... the flower girl was adorable in a Monsoon dress with lace and sparkle to match the bride.
All About Flowers
Bouquets and posies consisted of beautiful seasonal blooms including hydrangeas, ‘Avalanche’ roses, ‘Heaven’ roses, bouvardia and gypsophila. Carrying the floral theme through to Braxted Park, the archway was adorned with foliage and flowers, pew ends were made from gypsophila and the tables were decorated with punch bowls filled with fabulous blooms alongside tea-lights and clusters of hydrangeas.
Following their beautiful outdoor ceremony, drinks and canapés were served in the walled garden and guests were entertained by live band, ‘Poder De Tres’.
Moving inside to dine, the delicious menu included smoked duck breast with confit terrine, pan fried Nofrolk chicken and elderflower and summer berry trifle.
Children were also beautifully catered for with a delicious menu, large colouring canvas and table games.
“We chose our favourite dishes at our menu tasting,” explains Amber. “The chicken was my absolute favourite,”
As day moved to evening, a Ferris wheel sweet cart was hired to delight the children and a photo booth was another fun addition to the day. The newlyweds took to the white LED dance floor for their first dance, ‘Stay With You’ by John Legend.
A barbecue with spit roast pig was an exceptional choice for the evening menu and bespoke cocktails were also served as the evening guests arrived.
All About Cake
A naked cake was just the thing for this summer celebration, with personalised cake topper and fresh flowers.
“The four tiers were raspberry and white chocolate, vanilla, lemon and strawberry and Champagne,” smiles Amber. “We also had a red velvet cutting cake for anyone who liked chocolate!”
“Marrying each others best friend was a big thing for both of us. We also absolutely loved having our friends and family there to witness it and enjoy the whole day with us.”
