The Perfect Venue
Bianca spent two weeks scouring the internet for the perfect venue, only for Ben to come across Slaugham Place within five minutes of looking!
“We wanted an unusual venue with outdoor space,” explains Bianca. “Slaugham Place is a stunning venue with character and history and unlike any other wedding venue we have been to.”
Theme of the Day
Setting a July date, the happy couple decided to plan an informal celebration with garden party style. A colour scheme of pistachio with blush pink and mink was a beautiful choice for the season and setting. All hands were on deck to make wooden crates, decorate jars and create floral centrepieces and outdoor arrangements. Finally, Ben and Biana made a ‘memory wall’ using an old palette adorned with photographs of loved ones.
All About the Dress
The beautiful bride wore ‘Sabia’ by St Patrick – a stunning a-line design with embroidered thread appliqués on the bodice.
“It was the first dress I tried on and I instantly fell in love,” she explains. “I wasn’t sure about the dress on the hanger but when I put it on I felt like a princess.”
Completing the look, Bianca wore a cathedral length veil and a delicate beaded hair pin.
“My friend made a pearl bracelet for me using pearls I wore as a young bridesmaid to my parents wedding,” says Bianca. “My sister bought me pearl drop earrings and in my bouquet I carried a charm containing a photo of my dad who passed away some years ago.”
Finally, Bianca wore Charlotte Mills shoes with blue hearts and ‘Happily Ever After’ embroidery.
“Ben and I wore Converse trainers in the evening with ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’ stitched in to the back” she smiles.
The Bridal Party
Ben and the groomsmen hired grey suits from Debenhams. As for the bridesmaids, they wore elegant, long Grecian style dresses in the wedding colours, with beaded bodices to complement the bridal gown. Silver sandals and bracelets completed the look.
Flowers featured both in and outside the venue, filling jars that were dotted around tables and hung down the aisle.
“We bought the flowers for the venue ourselves from New Covent Garden market,” explains Bianca.
The Wedding Breakfast
Following their ceremony at Slaugham Place, guests gathered in the beautiful gardens. Prosecco, Pimms, beers and soft drinks accompanied delicious canapés including mini fish and chip cones.
Moving on to their celebratory wedding breakfast, a light salad of parma ham and asparagus was served to start followed by chicken and dauphinoise potatoes and a trio of desserts.
As day turned to evening, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘Constellations’ by Tom O’Dell and guests were treated to a barbecue and cheeseboard.
Bianca’s Favourite Moment
“Seeing Ben for the first time when I walked down the aisle. It was also nice to have ten minutes of quiet time, just the two of us, after the ceremony.”
Advice from the Bride
“As important as it is to speak to every single guest, make sure you have some time with just your partner. Ultimately your day is about the two of you.”
