When Dalia and David set the date for their July wedding, they were looking for an elegant wedding venue in London where they could create an intimate vibe and enjoy fantastic food.
“As soon as we walked into Morden Hall, we could feel an incredibly warm atmosphere,” says Dalia. “We could picture our friends and family with us on our special day,”
Design and Décor
Keeping the look clean and simple, the happy couple chose a white wedding with a hint of turquoise, Dalia’s favourite colour. Setting a romantic scene, Morden Hall was adorned with flowers and Dalia made the table numbers, place cards, fingerprints tree and a wishes jar.
All About Flowers
Choosing classically stylish bridal flowers, Dalia carried a beautiful bouquet of white dahlias with white roses and foliage. Meanwhile, the two bridesmaids carried pretty gypsophila posies.
Inside the staircase was decorated with gypsophila, with a large centrepiece of white dahlias on the ceremony table to complement Dalia’s bouquet. Two large arrangements of roses and dahlias sat on either side of the ceremony table. Finally, tall centrepiece arrangements of gypsophila sat on the tables in the impressive Mulberry room.
And the Bride Wore…
For her special day, Dalia wore a stunning Rosa Clara gown.
“I saw it on Pinterest shortly after getting engaged and knew it was the one,” she smiles. “It was simple and elegant with just the right amount of detailing.”
The beautiful bride accessorised with pearl earrings and a pendant that were gifts from her family. As a diamond buyer, David designed and made Dalia’s wedding ring to complement her engagement ring, which he also designed. Finally, Dalia wore elegant shoes by Jenny Packham.
“Most importantly, they were comfortable!” she laughs.
Continuing the Style
Following their ceremony in the Willow Room, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the Oak Room before moving to the breathtaking Mulberry Room to dine.
Starting with chicken terrine, the main course was fillet of beef wellington and a trio of desserts including treacle tart, dark chocolate torte and an iced passion fruit sorbet rounded the meal off perfectly. Vegetarian alternatives were equally delicious.
“All three courses were great,” explains Dalia. “I thought the chicken terrine was superb and David is still talking about the beef wellington!”
When it came to the evening celebrations, the in-house caterers delighted once again with wonderful Turkish meze.
All About Cake
The elegant cake made a stylish focal point, its two tiers graduating from turquoise to white icing.
“It was lemon cake filled with lemon curd Italian meringue buttercream,” explains Dalia. “The middle tier was filled with passion fruit curd and passion fruit Italian meringue buttercream.”
“For me, it was definitely the speeches! David’s speech was just perfect. His favourite moment was seeing me in my dress and the full wedding look after seven months of secret planning!”
