After deciding on an October wedding date, Katie and Mariano began to look for the perfect venue and fell in love with Wasing Park as soon as they saw it.
“We loved the exclusivity of Wasing Park and the fact that that we could have our ceremony, reception and accommodation all in one place,” says Katie. “The venue’s style was elegant and unique and that also really attracted us.”
Design and Décor
When deciding on the theme for their wedding, the happy couple chose to highlight their passion for travel. The rustic travel theme was cleverly carried throughout the day from passport style invitations to a travel trunk for cards and even an aeroplane cake!
“I’m creative and love to be unique so we made a lot of the decorations ourselves,” explains Katie. “The one big decoration we created was a love and travel picture wall with an amazing collage of memories.”
Mint green was selected as the principal colour for their day and Katie decorated the venue with an abundance of artificial flowers.
And the Bride Wore…
After searching high and low for the perfect dress, Katie finally found ‘the one’, which just happened to be the 28th dress she tried on!
“I searched online and found my dream dress just ten minutes down the road,” smiles Katie. “It was a gorgeous Ella Rosa dress and it was clearly meant to be!”
The beautiful bride accessorised with lace shoes adorned with pretty brooches and elegant diamond earrings.
Continuing the Style
Mariano looked the part in a blue suit from Scabal London on Savile Row while his groomsmen whore a slightly paler shade. Katie’s four stunning bridesmaids wore long mint green dresses with silver sandals and sparkly accessories.
Following their romantic ceremony in the Garden Room and a fabulous drinks reception, the wedding breakfast was served. Starting with confit pork and apple spring roll, the main course was fillet of beef with potato dauphinoise. And, for dessert, delicious vanilla cheesecake with raspberry coulis.
As day turned to evening, the newlyweds took to the dance floor to ‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran and it was time to fire up the pizza oven.
“Pizza is our favourite food and the wood-fired pizza definitely went down well with everyone,” says Katie.
Celebrations continued, the DJ played and the happy couple danced the night away with their family and friends.
“When I started walking down the aisle. I locked eyes with the man I was about to marry and I could see how happy and handsome he looked. That will always stay in my heart,” smiles Katie.
Advice from the Bride
“Plan as much as you can ahead of time,” says Katie. “I left a few things until the last minute and wished I hadn’t!”
