The Perfect Venue
With many guests travelling from London, Nava and Nicholas were looking for an exclusive use venue within easy reach of the city and one that offered a fabulous dining experience. Millbridge Court was the perfect Surrey wedding venue.
“Millbridge Court ticked all the boxes for us – a beautiful venue with scenic outdoor space and with the opportunity to have our ceremony outside,” says Nava.
Theme of the Day
Setting the scene for an elegant and sophisticated wedding, the happy couple opted for a dress code of morning suit or black tie.
“We met at university and attended many black tie events, so wanted something reminiscent of this,” says Nava. “We also liked the sense of occasion this dress code provided.”
Burgundy, peach and vintage rose were the chosen colours. Alongside beautiful flowers, décor included photographs of the couple and their families and a large picture frame containing the seating plan. A Polaroid camera sat beside the guest book, enabling guests to include photographs of themselves in the book – a lovely keepsake.
All About the Dress
The stunning bridal gown was style 7007 by Jesus Peiro, a bateau-neckline dress with V-neck at the front.
“I tried a few dresses on, but the moment I put this one I loved it!” says Nava. “It was perfect for my shape and a simple fabric that didn’t look too busy.”
The beautiful bride accessorised with Swarovski earrings, a silver bracelet from Oliver Bonas and a silver and pearl ring by Skagen. A delicate diamond necklace completed the look. Nava also chose two pairs of shoes, heels for the daytime and wedges for dancing!
As for the Groom and the Bridesmaids…
Nicholas looked the part in his morning suit from Moss Bros with buff-coloured waistcoat from Hackett and a burgundy tie. Meanwhile, Nava’s bridesmaids wore long burgundy dresses. Breaking with tradition, Nava had a man-of-honour who dressed the same as the groomsmen, in a traditional morning suit with burgundy tie.
Marrying in July, Nava and Nicholas were able to say their vows in the outdoor ceremony area at Millbridge Court, also enjoying a drinks reception with delicious canapés outside.
Moving into the stunning barn, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast created by Kalm Kitchen, starting with a ham hock and chicken terrine and an incredible rack of lamb for the main course. “For dessert, we had a patisserie bar with a choice of chocolate mess, banoffee pot and raspberry mousse,” says Nava. “It was a great talking point and gave people chance to mingle. The food was fantastic.”
After the wedding breakfast, a live band, The Incredibles, filled the dancefloor, beginning with the first dance to ‘Shut Up and Dance’ by Walk The Moon.
“One of my favourite moments was when the first dance started speeding up and we encouraged our friends and family on to the dance floor!” says Nava.
Advice from the Bride
“Get your venue sorted early, especially if you’re having a summer wedding,” says Nava. “We would really recommend a live band – it made for such great entertainment!”
