Rose and Daniel were looking for the perfect place to celebrate their special day, a setting that had plenty of space for all their friends and family and would serve up the finest food and drink too. After visiting ten different wedding venues in Leicestershire, a friend eventually suggested that they see Mythe Barn. And what a good recommendation it turned out to be!
"As soon as we approached Mythe Barn down the long, rural driveway, we got butterflies!" smiles Rose. "The beautiful venue, outstanding customer service and those signature chocolate brownies sealed the deal for us!"
Setting the scene
The happy couple set the date for the 23rd December and started planning the perfect winter wedding at Mythe Barn.
"We chose a marsala wine, dusky pink and Champagne colour scheme to complement the neutral tones at the venue."
"Mythe Barn's Christmas trees set the scene beautifully and we added fresh flowers, gold candlesticks and copper terrariums filled with roses to give our wedding a bit of festive bling."
Looking the part
When it came to finding the perfect dress, Rose fell in love with a spectacular mermaid-style lace gown by Eddy K.
"It incorporated all my favourite things," she says. "Jo at Bradgate Brides made me feel like a princess and suggested a gorgeous veil with scatter crystals that matched the dress. She also helped me choose a beautiful hairpiece." With a pair of glittering gold heels from Debenhams, Rose's stunning look was complete.
Daniel and his ushers were dressed to impress too, wearing brown tweed, three-piece suits from Next, paired with wine-coloured ties and pocket squares. Rose's six bridesmaids looked seriously glamorous in deep-red, floor-length dresses from ASOS.
Wonderful wedding food
To complement their wedding date, Rose and Daniel treated their guests (and themselves) to warming drinks and incredible wedding food, created by the expert in-house caterers.
They enjoyed Winter Pimm's and hot canapés after the ceremony before heading into the Grain Store for a festive feast. With a start of ham hock croquet, fillet steak and dauphinoise potatoes for the main course and a decadent chocolate brownie with mango sauce and cider honeycomb for dessert, it's safe to say that their menu went down a treat!
Celebrating in style
As day turned to evening, Mythe Barn's famous wood-fired pizzas were cooked to order and guests strutted their stuff on the dance floor. To top it all off, Dan's band even played a set with our usher, Josh, as the front man. It was the perfect way to celebrate!
Rose and Daniel's day was just how they wanted it to be, but a couple of moments stand out from the rest.
"Exchanging our vows and our last song were my favourite parts. With all our loved ones surrounding us on the dance floor and confetti falling on us like snow, it was just amazing!"
If Rose could pass on any words of advice it would be this:
"Everyone will tell you on the lead up to your wedding that the day goes so fast try to make the most of every second with each other and all our guests! We made our ceremony earlier (even though that meant a really early start to get ready) so we could prolong our day as much as possible."
