“Relax and enjoy your day! It’s a once in a lifetime moment and one of the only times you’ll have the opportunity to be so surrounded by those you love the most all enjoying themselves. Additionally, trust your instincts in terms of vendors, if something doesn’t seem right then it probably isn’t and it’s better to catch it early than on the day itself.” – Alice and Jose, Blackwell Grange

“My top tip for any couple about to get married is to focus on getting the venue right, as I think this is the most important aspect of any wedding. Looking back, I was always worrying that suppliers were getting booked up so early, but this was unnecessary as there are so many good options out there. Also, try to keep things simple. We live in a generation where there is a lot of pressure for everything to be perfect and it can be easy to get carried away with trying to make your wedding unique. However, the main thing is that you invite guests who love and support you, and this is what will make your day special.” – Hayley and Umesh, Combermere Abbey

“Use Instagram and Pinterest to help you to get more ideas, but make sure you don’t overfill the day so you still have time to speak with all your guests. Try and find suppliers close to the venue to reduce the chance of anything going wrong and always read plenty of reviews before you book them!” – Hazel and Michael, Morden Hall

“My advice would be to have what you want and whatever makes you both happy. Try not to worry too much about the opinion of others, because it’s your day and you only want to do it once!” – Samantha and Ashley, Mythe Barn

“Definitely don't be afraid to ask for some help, even if it does feel hard to relinquish control! Try to enjoy the build-up and all the amazing things you get to experience that you (hopefully!) won't ever again. Also, remember that when all your favourite people are all together on one day, looking amazing, with your favourite music, loads of booze and yummy food, it’ll be the best day of your life. It really will, I promise!” - Robin and Raye, Upwaltham Barns

“Plan as far in advance as you can to reduce the stress closer to the day! If you can, take a moment out with your partner to talk to each other away from everyone else on the day and savour the moment for a while.” – Abi and Chris, Clock Barn

“Don’t get too stressed by the little things! Chances are, the guests aren’t going to notice if one ribbon is a different colour from the others, or if one bridesmaid is wearing different shoes from the others. Enjoy the planning and take some time to go to wedding shows and get plenty of inspiration. Then you can discuss all your ideas with your partner and have fun with it!” - Joanna and Katy, Rivervale Barn
